You need to imagine a situation where you come back to the game every third league or so, you always play your own builds, without pob, never use guides/third party software and you never watch streamers...That is not uncommon and for those players red maps are sometimes out of reach, i can see it...

You and OP are wrong. Clearing t14 is an incredibly low bar in modern PoE... you can do it on 50k DPS, which a lot of players have at the end of the campaign. This isn't 2013 anymore, when people would group up to do Merciless Docks runs.

It's not a matter of copying meta builds or following guides or whatever other cope argument people usually float in order to deny reality: the game is literally balanced around red maps being the end of the tutorial now. Players who can't clear red maps aren't the average, or any kind of baseline, or "casual." They are either brand new to the game, or they only have the knowledge of players who are brand new to the game.

So if you want to make the argument, "people who have never played this game before can't access the Catarina fight," then... okay? That's a perfectly valid argument to make, and we can have a discussion about if that's a problem or not. But you're insulting everyone's intelligence by even pretending that T14 maps are an unreasonable barrier for entry to any endgame system or boss fight.

Nope you are wrong, jsut look one post above you lol. Someone posted his personal experience. it doesn't matter where you think the difficulty is set. You are watchign streamers(don't deny it) you are using guides(don't deny it) that is why you think red maps are easy...I do aswell, but not everybody does and people with common sense can figure that out even though it does not describe their personal gaming experience

And i also a) did not insult anyones intelligence and b) i did not state that it is an unreasonable barrier. THose are your words not mine!
They want to do Catarina before red maps like they used to do; not that red maps become easier from what i read in the op, so calm down ;)

First of all:

No I'm not, and no I'm not. I make build guides my man, I don't need to copy other people's homework. Don't project your lack of game knowledge onto other people.

Second of all:

I didn't say that there are no people who could not clear tier fourteen maps. In fact, I specifically listed two groups of people who can't in my post. But here's the point that you are missing (or probably just didn't read; my post did run a bit long for the tiktok generation):

GAMES ARE NOT BALANCED AROUND THE BOTTOM 10% OF PLAYERS.

They don't want the game balanced around them. They specifically posted about Catarina. YOu could do Catarina for years on low tier map. Your argument has no place here you are just the usual gatekeeper look at me i am so skilled, lmao.

And it's not 10%. I remember to this day the first time i killed Maven...2% of players got this achievement was the message.(and more than 50% of those probably with a carry) Welcome to reality!

On top of that there are a bunch of players that are regularly in endgame but they are incapable of leveling chars themselves. They rmt and they leech exp. I have more respect for an ssf palyer that never reaches red maps but plays at his own pace than those kind of players honestly...

Uber Catarina with some items moved to uber-only pool is the next step.

Most builds are hitting 50k DPS during the campaign, so if you're still sitting at that number by the time you're pushing into T14 maps, after gaining multiple levels, upgrades, and showered with currency and loot, then you're doing something seriously wrong.

It's true that you can push through the game with just 50k DPS. But that doesn’t mean you should be taking on juiced content like it's your playground. If you're hitting a wall with essence mobs or struggling to run Syndicate encounters cleanly, that’s your first and most obvious indicator that your build is falling behind, whether in raw damage, scaling, or overall setup.

At that point, juiced or juicier content isn’t the problem, it's just not content meant for you or your lacking build.

I don’t think anyone actually said “play it my way or you’re wrong”, so I’m not sure where all this negative energy is coming from. There’s a clear difference between elitism and players with experience just being honest about what works and what doesn’t.

Sometimes straightforward advice gets taken as a personal attack, but that usually says more about how someone's progressing than what was actually said. It’s understandable to get frustrated if things aren’t clicking, especially if you've been around the game a while. But that doesn’t make others elitist for pointing out why.

Real elitism would be saying, “You’re not even worth helping unless you’ve cleared all content blindfolded day 1” What’s happening here is just people pointing out what’s truly working. If that still feels hostile, maybe the issue isn’t the message.
