Pretty much. And yeah its normal for me to be done with 36 or 40 challenges by the end of week 2, I just did a speedrun of it this time and rushed more while buying carries.

Campaign is too boring for me to play more than 1 build per league, and I can't find a good/fun/strong build to copy anyway. They're all either bait,too expensive with impossible mirror-tier rares that I will never bother to make because crafting is cringe in this game, or they have uniques that are expensive af. I really don't understand why so many build guides have these items with 50 crafting steps and all kinds of special mods, why can't it just be a simple life/resist item lmao, by the time I farm out all these items and currency to make it I'm gonna be bored out of my mind.

So nothing to do but move the game to my HDD and play other stuff after I'm done with challenges.


Honestly, this.

If the campaign didn't feel like such a slog to complete, I wouldn't limit myself to running 1-2 builds per league.

I don't mind farming for currency to gear up, but I absolutely hate crafting in this game. It's a glorified slot machine and the closest we had to something good was Harvest before it got gutted.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

^this is absolutely mind-blowing (negatively) to me.....why in the hell would you be playing a game that:
1) you only realistically play for a week
2) you dislike so much you don't want to play "again"......yet regularly play it again
3) you don't want to do one of the fundamental things the game is designed for: replayability and creating new characters.

And then, if all of that is true, WHY would you devote the crazy amount of hours it takes to "max" a character in a single week when you DONT HAVE TO?! If your goals are really a single character taken to endgame and reasonably geared for an entire league, then why the hell wouldn't you take your damn time doing it?

In fact, that's probably WHY the two of you feel the way you do: you are forcing yourself to play as much as humanly possible in a tiny span of time. Most people would get sick of a repetitive game like this one if they did that.

What are you talking about? I'm not 40/40 right now and probably won't be for another month at best since I'm slow and scatterbrained. In fact, I spent the past week farming for Svalinn on my summoner and currently humoring the idea of jumping onto a flicker strike build.

Nothing you said refutes what I said, though. Campaign is a boring slog, and no, playing like some crazy speedrunner isn't going to fix that. And because campaign is a boring slog, I have no interest in making more than a couple builds per league, because I don't wanna have to go through it. Every. Single. Time.

If GGG made it so you have to go through campaign once per league then give you a skip option for later builds that leveled you to 68 and you can run labyrinth without trials, I'd probably make a lot more builds.

A) remove mercs - you can still blast with one button
B) remove uniques - wow, cant blast, with or without mercs

You clearly did not actually read/understand my post.

If you could only equip mercs with white (normal) and blue (magic) items, they would still be horrifyingly overpowered. They would still be an animated guardian, which requires zero stats to use, which takes zero skill gem slots to use, which requires zero passive tree points to scale, which deals far more damage, which has far better damage projection, which gives you auras and buffs, which applies debuffs to enemies, which gives you 50% IIQ.

I'm trying to be nice here, I know you're not a super tryhard top 1% nolife blaster or whatever, but you really should take a good hard look in the mirror and ask yourself why you like this mechanic so much. Is it because it's mechanically interesting and engaging? Or is it because it makes the game easy?

Yep, the last time I did any real,fun crafting was in Harvest league. Then they killed that. Now the only """crafting""" I do is spamming alts on an ilvl75 amulet to get +1 all skills then making it a +2 amulet for my elemental build. That's it. Any other item is way too much of a slot machine/expensive/cringe to craft. And I refuse to use recombinators and flood my few stash tabs with bases lmfao

There ARE serious problems with how multiplayer works in this game, in much the same way as Mercs.

But there is a key difference: multiplayer involves real, live, other players. Presumably, those other players also want/need loot. Instead of gearing ONE character, you are gearing ALL of the multiplayer characters which has a exponentially higher cost than a single player. They are nearly incomparable situations.

And then multiplayer NOW with mercenaries....multiplies the issue by 1.5

If Mercs ever would go core i would prefer a /players6 mode with the recent quantity changes in mind. Or allow us to have 6 Mercs solo.

Im afraid soon a new kind of service will open up "paid quant guys" that just enter theap to provide bonus quantity.

You are WAY behind my friend.....this has existed since party bonuses have existed. Brought to the foreground in Archnemesis with culling. But never ever went away.
