RTX 5090 Black screen and fan goes to max.
Update: Noticed my GPU hit about 82c while playing poe. This in itself shouldn't really be a problem as the RTX 5090 is rated for 90c, but I figured maybe I can do something about it.
tl;dr: was able to reduce GPU temps by about 10c, to around 70c. Now the game no longer crashes. I don't know if this is an actual fix, I've been playing for about an hour and no issues yet. If I had to take a guess, I read somewhere that the error I've linked before was about the GPU going from idle to performance mode, which then triggers a bug in the driver that crashes it. Maybe my GPU somehow goes into some kind of temporary idle mode to cool down a bit then go back into performance mode, which then crashes the driver. I don't know if this will help anyone, but figured I'd post it. Good luck exiles. |

" Thanks but it isn't my case ... my pc is really well ventilated and my gpu doesn't go past 70 even when doing the most heavy things. It's a problem by GGG side with PoE ; it doesn't have to do with my pc , since as I said before I already got the pc to be seen by specialists... and also it doesn't happen in any other game or application. Same issue here. Constant crashes in PoE1 only — screen goes black, audio stutters or loops, fans ramp(not every time), requires hard reboot. No issues in other games or GPU stress tests (FurMark, 3DMark, Superposition, Cyberpunk, etc).
Specs: RTX 3080 (recent clean DDU install) i7-10700K 32GB RAM Corsair RM850x PSU Windows 10 (fully updated) Ultrawide 3440x1440p 175Hz OLED (crashes occur even at 1080p windowed with all settings low, Vsync on, and frame cap at 60) Tried: Swapping from Vulkan to DX11/DX12 Engine multithreading off Multiple fresh PoE installs (fully wiped directories) Separate PSU cables for GPU (no daisy chain) HWinfo logs look clean before crashes Would love to hear if anyone has figured out a consistent workaround or if GGG is aware. Seems like some kind of driver/GPU state issue tied specifically to PoE. |

Hi guys, i found a possible solution... for now i am without crash for about 4 hours...
go to production_Config.ini file, localized in "C:\Users\YOUR_USER\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile" edit two lines in this file: renderer_type=Vulkan device_type=Vulkan If you already changed in game the Dx12 or Dx11 to Vulkan, probably the "device_type" is already setted to vulkan... but "renderer_type" still setted to Dx12, so, change to vulkan in this file. Besides that, i also changed the file to READ_ONLY, preventing POE to change without need. i Hope it solve your problems. <3 |

Same here, thought would be fixed week after launch, this game is doing weird things to my PC, need hard reboot or pull power and leave for a bit. Other games work fine RDR2, Cyberpunk etc at 4k no issues, furmark no issues, GPU doesnt go above 65 as it is on waterblock. FIX THE GAME GGG!!!
