PauseCore here we go. PoE 1 gets PoE 2 pausing feature.

This is a feature that's well over due. It -dramatically- increases accessibility. The ability for a parent to now see what that noise was right away, rather than try to disengage, portal then look around. And that even had the risk of losing the zone if it took to long.

That it's pretty easy for me now to just go make some food and not have to consider if that portal will last long enough or if a mob wandered into me does legit help. And for a game that is single player in all but name, there's really no reason to prevent some sort of a pause (even if it was ONLY via a separate key that locks you out of all menus).
Yeah pausing on demand without worries at any time and not wasting portals is nice but i think the biggest safety net is the automatic pausing when lag spikes happen, especially in HC when its out of your control on days the servers shit themself.

All changes imo (my impression) try to counteract either the 10% exp loss and RIPs in HC.

I absolutely think that point 1 translate very well to PoE. HC is absolutely about knowledge, and knowledge translate to skills. I haven't cared about HC since my D2 days 20 years ago (since I like to think I have a life outside of video games), but to claim that playing HC doesn't require a more preventive, thoughtful and thorough approach to the game through knowledge is in my eyes wrong.

Does pausing count as a server side action? Would a logout macro that hits escape -> logout be a violation of ToS if outside of a boss encounter?
I come back here hoping something would happen to make me want to play poe again after they ruined everything with poe 2 and destroying poe 1 over the last 6 years.... and they officially killed the game for me.

As an experienced hardcore player, I can tell you it is about skill and 80%-90% of the deaths (at least in my case) are insta deaths that no logout can save you from it.

I think pause is disabled only in Pinnacle Boss content.
seriously in the modern age supporting this kind of cheating is wild, pause & quit because im legitimately going to die is cheating. nothing less, nothing more
