Poe 1 3.26

plz, dont go the poe 2 vendor way. black market is ok to get bases but plz replace gold with good items in map. i dont like that we get strong items via vendors. pretty plz.
the rolls that you get with faustus are too strong. any mechanic like tier items or anything is better than having to vendor gamble.
So much for the dozens of league ideas they supposedly had laying around

The idea behind Faustus arises as a response to platforms like TFT. Most people are bothered by having to rely on Discord in order to sell or buy large quantities conveniently, like selling one or several full stash tabs. This isn't possible to do all at once without using third-party tools like the TFT Discord, and having to deal with obnoxious individuals like TFT’s creator, who bans people from his Discord if you don’t make good trades with him in-game...

TFT is a cancer for POE, and Faustus is an early version of what it could become in the future. The idea behind Faustus is to eventually allow POE users to sell or buy full stash tabs between each other without needing to use third-party platforms like TFT’s Discord. Like everything, it needs time to improve-unless, of course, they end up abandoning POE for that abomination called POE2.
I will tell you a secret. Adding Fausuts made TFT discord even "stronger/better". I never made such ridiculus amount of money by flliping as when I combined both Faustus and TFT. Only way to damage TFT would be if Faustus was completly free, so people could easily put huge bulk of items in there w/o extra cost

But to be fair. When you play trade and spend 3-4 hours in your hideout and invest a couple of divines, you have insane returns when you know supply and demand of the meta builds

Faustus costs gold now, in the (never ending) Settlers league, do you really think it’ll cost gold once the Settlers league ends? This is an early version of the NPC, and GGG’s intention *was* (and I say “was” because at this point we don’t know what’s going to happen with POE, it's probably going to fall into misery thanks to its big brother, POE2, which is a complete aberration to the genre) to improve Faustus little by little and add features until third party tools like TFT are no longer needed.

If TFT became dominant in POE, it's only the players’ fault, not the game's. Faustus is trying to fix (over time, as it gets better) what you all caused.

PS: Of course, the state POE is in is also the players’ fault. The support shown for POE2 is entirely on the users, so yes if POE ends up in misery and forgotten, it’s also the players’ fault for giving GGG too much financial freedom.

This company is like a child: you have to manage its money, or it’ll blow through it all at once. People chose to let them do whatever they wanted with too much support and this is the result.

Why wouldn't it?

Implementing gold into the core game would be even better than in Settlers, because Heist, Delve, Blight and other mechanics that didn't drop gold, would. Both the gold respec and the currency exchange are loved by 'most' players, and I don't really see a single reason to not implement both of them - alongside gold.

Yes. Gold cost was mainly added to prevent bots from endless trade loops.

Well, it makes sense, if they want to keep Faustus, he needs some currency, I guess gold would be the logical choice, Settlers has good stuff, but you know, we've had enough of Settlers :S

I agree. But Faustus and gold could easily be separated from Settlers.
