The tower system is undefendable GGG.

Agreed. The endless atlas in general is a failure. Once you progress so far, it becomes simply too overwhelming.

We need a procedural atlas endgame with different concepts.
Before EA began they even told us it was "delayed" 3 months to put this endgame in. 3 months to develop, but how much time and thought was put into this thing? The endgame system needs to be 100% scrapped. Take your time(what, 3 months until 0.3.0) to think of a new system. After you release 0.3.0(focused on skills, characters, passive tree, etc) then you spend months developing a new endgame system for 0.4.0.

The easiest and most boring option they couldve done is just copy paste from poe1.

Instead their using the early access to try and create something thats new and exciting. And im probably in a minority but I actually like it.

For sure there are improvements to be made and its not perfect, but if you look at the rate of improvement from release up until now I think its had many good improvements and if they keep working at it it can turn out to be really great.

My opinion is that I would rather have them try to make something new for this game instead of just copy pasting things from poe1.

Na, Augury is still bearable. So does with Seepage. MIRE is the one that is truly abominable and need to be erased from existence.

I would rather play Mire than those, unless it's Mire with burning grounds

I kinda like augury now after the changes. They fixed the maze-like aspect, the levers and added a boss. Its a small map too, fun for mob density.

Hidden grotto is my least favorite. Huge donut with dozens of dead ends and boss location is hard to find.

But think the fact players have preferences at all shows we could use a 'favored maps' system or something similar.

I agree but on the other hand there are things that are working extremely well in POE 1 and there's no reason why they should be thrown out simply because it has to be different. I'm thinking about the atlas tree + scarab system, and to some extent I would even add compasses (even though it came with massive clunk)
The crux of it is to be able to tailor your game experience, the content you interact with and the way you do it. Get some variations in there, combine, mix and match stuff. Basically in poe 1 you can theory craft your own farming strat, and even if you just copy someone else's, there's still dozen upon dozens of different way to chose from to play your atlas
People absolutely love that stuff, and I'm one of them.

I do believe poe 2's atlas system is a decent foundation, it has great potential and should absolutely not be scrapped. But it needs a lot more content and it needs to learn to alleviate the tedium.
Just let people have more control, towers can stay but let's have some scarab or other forms of juice to let us decide and modify the content we want to interact with on every map. Let people skip over maps and not be limited to one-adjacent on the atlas, so we can get to our points of interest faster. (Really no point slogging through blank maps just to set yourself up, this is horrendous)
Chasing and setting up towers just doesn't cut it. It's boring. Towers can be in the game but they can't be the main way to juice maps.

Basically we just need a lot more fresh content on the atlas, more control over what we can interact with and more exciting and varied rewards to chase.
It doesn't have to be exactly like poe 1 but it needs to not scrap away the concepts that makes the game fun for players.
