The tower system is undefendable GGG.
GGG literally created this specifically and only to hardcode RNG into mapping. They can't even let us run the content we want anymore without hitting the lottery.
Remember Jonathan saying "Remember sextants? Yuck"... I'll take sextants over towers big time. Towers are just destroyed krangled sextants made to keep us playing longer, by keeping us from meaningful farming. Now you can't just put in a map and farm, you have to spend hours finding 2+ tower setups to effectively farm maybe 5-8 maps? That's just too much. It's like cutting our pay to minimum wage and expecting us to be happy -- I want to do what I want. I don't want RNG in my mapping system, making it so I can't even effectively farm without wasting hours. It's intentionally poorly designed to make us waste hours of time trying to SET UP the farming -- not doing the farming, just setting is up alone... Last bumped on May 15, 2025, 2:46:46 PM

I like to run strand straight maps in POE1 but this POE2 wont let me.

" True. Anything COULD happen. But what's LIKELY to happen is what's in "Teh Vision"™ And this seems to include clunky endgame mapping mechanics designed to limit the aggregate amount of juicing possible on a region of maps in order to enforce spending more time than necessary. |

It could be improved, but that's true for most things. PoE1 has endgame systems that i didnt enjoy at times, but they have enough systems i can ignore most of the ones i dont feel like doing (gearing heist characters, gathering sulphite in maps to then do delve, getting blight ravaged maps, uber lab, etc) I think the system is cromulent as long as there's more independant avenue's for endgame progression coming later. I would improve the system by making the loot more dependant on waystone tiers than precursor tablets. Right now the range is so wide good T1 maps can yield better loot than a bad T15 map.
Maps around towers should always be corrupted and you get extra xp playing these maps reaching the towers, and afterwards you should be able to play the same maps again as cleaned for more loot drops. Maybe then the precursor tablets can come into play for extra content. But i really don't like this bs with tablet mods, juicing and overlapping, all the while playing super crappy maps just for setting it up. |
