How the HIFL am I supposed to get my neck enchant?!

Well, based on everything you're describing, I’m going to assume your playtime is quite low (I'd honestly be surprised to hear otherwise).

Everyone has their own pace, and that’s totally fine. HOWEVER, you can’t expect the same results as streamers or players who dedicate most of their free time to PoE2.
(Just out of curiosity, what’s your current playtime since patch 0.2.0 launched? [/played]?)

PoE2 simply isn’t designed to reward casual players — maybe that’s a harsh truth, but it is the reality.
I’m not saying you should stop playing, far from it. If you’re having fun, that’s what matters — by all means, keep going.
BUT you might want to adjust your expectations.

If someone hasn’t seen a single logbook since the start of the league, they can’t — and honestly shouldn’t — expect to be able to clear all the content in the game. That’s just not realistic, or even desirable.

Also, how else can we explain the fact that you haven’t seen a single logbook, other than a clear lack of playtime ?

Same goes for the breachstones — the fact that you haven’t gotten one yet just reinforces the idea that you haven’t invested much time into the game.

And I say this with all due respect: I don’t think you’re playing enough (which is completely understandable — there are more important things in life than PoE), or you’re playing in a suboptimal way, or you only started a few days ago (in which case, your situation makes a lot more sense).

At this point, I don’t have much more to add.

If you do want to get more involved like you said, time will do its job. You’ll gradually learn how to play more efficiently.
We all started somewhere.

The good news is that we’re still talking about an early access game. If you keep playing, you should have enough knowledge by the time it officially launches — and that could be your ticket to accessing the content that currently feels out of reach.

8 days 5 hours on this char.

Steam count is 460 hours, however majority can be non-active time. Like I am typing this comment...

See... this is then some weird game design paradox.
You get introduced with a generated map and the atlas tree but unattainable the same time?

The game in this case have some identity problem. Is it a single player game with coop options
or an mmorpg with really restricted trading?

Is the endgame the true game or some uberhardcore stuff?
You know... like in mmorpg everyone says the leveling is the game, but contradicts that 95% of the time people do endgame raids/arena while leveling is something you do because you want to reach that endgame...

Lets say Binding of Isaac had their own hardcore rng stuff, but there are actual ways to get stuff done.

But having an RNG to get an expedition, where there's an RNG to get a type of monster that have another RNG to get a logbook, to generate a small chance of spawning a boss...

Ofc I (and many others) get frustrated with poe2 mapping.
Like I made this topic only about the neck enchant, but we have the other mechanics:

Expedition:
I was thinking... what are the different flag means? I am sure people just drop the bombs on the unique stuff that changes the rule of the swarm...
But whats the difference between the flags?

Reward: 4 type of currency that are placeholder now?
The NPC-s in hideout sell ilvl62 items?!
And a recombinator that destroys items of ilvl72 as it would be BIS items.

Just destroyed an amazing chest piece that I wanted to replace to, because apparently I was "too greedy" and wanted to have that +250 max life from another chest. The one had good armour, armor% but a t1 life mod.
I had 12% chance to combine that 3 stuff. And don't forget even after successful recombination I still have 3-4 mod slot left to brick it down the toilet...

Essences should be the "lvl2 regal" not exalted.

We got the cleansing mechanic that is a RNG to find corrupted are
kill the nexus (at least that's skill based, or feels so, wont twist it to complete rng)
Yet I seen a SINGLE fractured orb so far.

That orb is so rare it should at least let me pick what mod I want to lock in.
But its chance designed as if I have hundreds of them...
Would it be so unfair to get at least a guaranteed fractured orb from each cleansed map?

Wisp mechanic:
That should be a guaranteed talisman drop too. It an actual punishing mechanic, and I don't even think any of those socketables are even good for my build.
Not to mention it competes over sockets.
Its not poe1 where we have 4-8 of each items. Those few sockets are a MUST for resistances
and weapon slots are non-optional either.

And those compete with soul cores too?!

The endgame have a carrot on a stick before you. But that stick is an actual morning star that hits you in the face time to time...

And yet when you do discussions or ask help from this "helping" community you get
- true endgame is pinnacle
- gitgud
- help? just copy a buildguide
- LMAO you just follow a build guide? ROFLMAO lul
- game is easy... game is hard

Its like competitive game snobism where you're only a player if you reached grandmaster rank. But over there everyone plays the same game. Its not like in sc2 battlecruisers would be unlocked for GM-s only... XD

So yeah... try to find the answer, because even the wikis are unclear, and endgame is a copy paste from poe1. Somehow people enjoy that too.

But yeah... I am getting to the point where I want to experience "end-endgame" but its not a good thing when by playing I starting to have thought I am wasting my life here...

And I am a gamer in core. I don't consider playing games as time wasted. Critical thinking, problem solving, optimizing, fast adaptation in real life...

Bit off topic, but still relevant:
I made numerous topic how to make endgame better. The basics are there.
Ie: every endgame build funnels down to 1-2 button skills due to various reasons. Meanwhile there's no defensive skill or crowdn control in the game. No wonder every endgame build is about "tap the screen clear before any enemy can do something"
We have skillslots left. Introduce situational problem managing skills!

Defense should be risk-reward. Look at moba games. Seeming OP abilities somehow balanced.
PASSIVE defenses are skill. Its not up to me what stat RNG rolls me.

And if you point at trading, the game isn't about fighting monsters, its testing out merchs from
https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Dawn%20of%20the%20Hunt

In that case 99% players play poe2 incorrectly, because the actual game is finding the cheapest build including hyperinflation and taking social behaviour to consideration
Your "workforce" will unionise and quit, because poe-trade to work you need materials, items and people WILL to trade too.
I am wondering whats the % of players who actually participate in trading?
No wonder there are soo many topic about improving trading...
On reddit I saw an armour chest with 3k armour. For my thorn warbringer that would be epic. Yet 2.1k is the highest I've seen on trade page...

Meanwhile another long wall of text...
And oddly enough this is why I like and hate poe2.
Because it keeps my mind busy... Its impossible to say the problem is a single thing. Its an interconnected problem. A ripple effect.
Yet cant make discussions because people wont react to it.

You do a clickbait topic like "xp on death is sh*t" and there's 50 pages of argument on both sides.
(btw, I am not against xp loss. I am against unfair deaths. Just give the 2 death save omens spawn on EVERY ritual pool...)

Whenever I make a feedback topic, pointing out problem, offering solution... 60 people seen... 0 comments.
Without up/downvote system no clue if people even care. Or is it too complex and just don't understand game balancing?

Why am I doing this?
Dont know... its "fun". GGG wanted feedback, and I like to offer solutions not just shouting "game suxx" - played 5k hours XD
