Why do people wanna have OP everything?

Hi,
I was wondering: what is attractive about clearing the screen without risk or meaningful gameplay?
Why would you want to move a the speed of light, without risk of dying and one-shot EVERYTHING?
Isn't that monotonous and boring?
I understand that the loot system needs tuning, not in quantity but quality. Having to filter endless useless drops gets really annoying, and crafting has too much RNG. I agree with that part, the loot/crafting should be more dedication/challenge based, and not an infinite, MINDLESS grind, crafting great gear should be a reward for progressing in skill & knowledge about the game.
But the gameplay part... Some content creators demand builds to be OP and blast through maps in 1 min, pressing 1 button all the way, where's the ACTION in that? No skill, no reflexes, no pattern recognition?
And where's the RPG in that? Where's the immersion?

So... I would like to know, if you find that type of gameplay fun what is it exactly that you like about it?
I'm just curious, honestly, not being malicious/insulting.

Hope y'all doing well

Because most people who obsess over "skill" and challenge never truly want those things.

They want the illusion of skill and challenge so they can feel like they achieved something in life.

Things like lightning spear might as well be called hello kitty difficulty because nothing is threatening, you are playing some 2d cookie clicker at that point

Because in a game where 40 mobs jump instantly on top of you and kill you, regardless of how far they were when you engaged them , nothing else besides screen clearing works.
VERY disappointed to not see Lightning spear nerfs.

The patch incoming fixes drops for all of the playerbase but for those hard sweating with meta builds like LS it:
- Completely ruins the immersive combat idea that POE2 sets out, along with skill expression
- Will make those who are abusing it cry much harder if its nerfed later rather than sooner
- Inflates the economy which if they want the majority of players to enjoy is counter productive because how disappointed is your average player going to feel when he logs onto the trading website for the first time, only to see items he likes be at least 5 divs or more when they felt super lucky to get 1.

"40 mobs", uh huh, sure.
more like 10% of that number and at worst the only thing that can happen is one or two or them has mana/ES depleting bubble.
If you ignore the defensive element of this game you're going to get hurt and its deserved.

That's a whole load of forum medals that you've earned from Space Invaders sir bravo!
It's for that dopamine brah. Feels great!
This sentiment was summed up by a member of our design team who recently said "We don't want to take away the feeling of closing your eyes and Exalting an item, scared to see whether you ruined it or not."

YOLO!

I miss you Chris Wilson. 13 years of friendship! Enjoy life mate!

Sorry. But I have literally 0 respect for people coming to the forum thesedays with their 0-hours put into POE1 and saying what's good about POE2.
The game was supposed to have a shared endgame with POE1 and POE1 happily died for that game.
Now, we're left with a league that lasted long enough that when someone got pregnant at the start of Settlers, they are about to give birth by now.
State of POE2 is not desirable at any means compared to POE1 and I will keep reminding our nosy "newcomers" that before you talk shit to POE1 players, that the game is supposed to be the sequel to POE1, not a whole new franchise.
Because it is fun!

Speak for yourself really.
Most of the bad reviews are just about the hardships of drops, lack of respawns (addressed a while ago) and the trials being a little bit unfun.

The PoE franchise could of been left in a ditch for well over a decade or 2 like World of Warcraft, with the same original engine, painted over with zero modern day nice things, like actual interactive combat as opposed to just staring at buffs and debuffs all day.

We'll be looking back very fondly on companies like GGG that actually cared enough to make meaningful improvements to their main product line, regardless of the small portion of players heavily criticizing.

POE1 has had more than 10 years of content updates and how selfish is it really to not wait on the continued updates like they said they were going while they're just heavily focusing on the next level up of ARPG experiences.

Man would never set foot on the moon with only people like yourself around...
