Item Changes in Path of Exile 2
I'm sorry but this is just band aiding a design that isn't working. Like you're doing the same mistake Blizzard made with D3 when they decided to reinvent stats on gear. You have a functioning gear drop and crafting system that's been iterated for years. Why you decided to start messing with that is beyond me.
Picking up blue items to gamble aug/regal/recomb isn't fun and it never will be. Yes some people moaned and cried about the alteration orb but it serves a purpose and most definitively made the game feel worse without it. Also making white items more rare in this band aid fix makes essences even less worth, not that they were that worth to begin with but still just shows how poorly thought through these changes are. This reactive development with incessant need to reinvent the wheel just isn't it... In game contact @MajorAsshole

Why is there a buff to rarity and a nerf to rarity at the same time?

Progress being made!
Making crafting engaging and meaningful is just as important as having exciting loot is though. Most people seem to agree that PoE2's irreversible slot machine crafting is a downgrade from the way PoE1 functions. Would like to see that be a target for some rework soon. Almost nobody wants to be picking up white items and slamming them with currency trying to get 2 mod rares. |

I hope the loot changes from spirits include better drop chance for talismans, because I never see them drop even though I'm spec'd into them and they always seem to want to go across the map (even though they're right next to a rare already).
Also, spectres need a lot of love. At least fix the wisp bug. :( |

Great news and update looking forward to it!

Maybe I can get a greater/perfect jeweler's orb or two instead of another 30 or so lesser. Fingers crossed.

Nerfing player IIR - good
Buffing loot that drops when players have low IIR - good Chest changes - PROBABLY good, will withhold judgement (might be 0/10 to 1/10, might be 0/10 to 6/10) High tier unID rare changes - outstanding. These become the early maps gearing path. What's missing IMO - kills of act bosses should award a T2 or T3 rare item aligned to your highest attribute (e.g. if you have Dex highest, you might get a bow, a buckler, or an EV helm). Won't always be good but will provide a clear path to improve if you fall behind the gear treadmill, just go farm the last act boss again. Le Toucan Will Return
