The POE subreddit has blacklisted Jonathan's name

Who the hell is Jonathan and how much of a big shot is he?

One of the original founders of PoE. Current Lead Designer and director of PoE, - I think.

GGG is not affiliated with the subreddit. Chris created it, but he handed it over ages ago.

GGG mentioned using the subreddit as a way to gather feedback on the early access of PoE2. However, since they now ban users for expressing negative opinions, that subreddit is becoming an unreliable source of genuine feedback. It risks giving them a false impression that the game is being well-received. In effect, they are forming an echo chamber—surrounding themselves only with positive voices while silencing criticism.

This behavior is a form of authoritarian insulation, where decision-makers isolate themselves from dissent and opposing viewpoints. Over time, this leads to a distorted understanding of reality, as only filtered or supportive feedback reaches those in charge. While it might protect egos or brand image in the short term, it would results in poor decision-making and long-term backlash due to disconnect from the actual player base.

We already see that disconnect as GGG started using their big data and own interpretation without understanding real issues.

I see plenty of criticism that gets left alone on the forum. You're pretending like the removed posts aren't needlessly negative by nature.

Honestly, if someone's resorting to personal attacks or are refusing to elaborate on why something might be bad and are just blindly posting 'X BAD CUZ I SED SO' I think it's fair to remove the post and ignore the criticism.

If people articulate themselves correctly they can post all the negative feedback they like. If they act like toddlers instead, they'll be treated like toddlers. By the way, if you don't moderate overly aggressive / needlessly negative comments you end up looking like Reddit, which is a mixing pot of mental illness and rage.

any negative feedback when you mention developer quote from his interview would be treated as personal attack. If they want ONLY clean emotion-less discussions they shouldn't stop on 'X BAD CUZ I SED SO', but also wipe 'X GOOD CUZ I SED SO'-kind of messages. Does anyone see it happening? I don't think so. Then you can't use that argument for making discussions clean as it's doing exactly what I've mentioned. Treat toddlers on both sides of emotion scale similar.
It's authoritarian censorship, but they should actually be censoring more aggressively...?

I'm taking the piss since you derailed so easily lmao, I'd rather take 'needlessly positive' posts over 'needlessly negative' posts any day.

Just use your words like a normal well-adjusted adult and you can post any negative feedback you like.

You are delusional. Ive made thread saying literally just "vote with wallet, remember that ur money is mostly spent on PoE Two even if you buy something for PoE" and they deleted it pretty much instantly. ON THIS FORUM. They delete ANYTHING that can damage "reputation" of their new () child. There is no place for people on this Forum that dont praise that trash game, even if its section for PoE, not PoE Two.

(I bet this post will also be deleted before you even read it).

when you post enough stuff in the poe subreddit defending ggg's positions on the game, the resulting downvotes lead to a low user score which prevents you from posting any further stuff.

i never understood why ggg thought that reddit is good free marketing and they can save some bucks not overhauling their forum tech from the last millenium.
