Poe 2's Negative Reviews on Steam Are About to Exceed 30%

I enjoy the role playing aspect of the genre. I like starting out and building a character over time, finding items I like and crafting them as I go. Improving items little by little as I go is a major part of the enjoyment. I like exploring areas and maps.

I don't find POE2 a very enjoyable game. The graphics are great, the boss fight are a major improvement but the base game, monsters and loot just seem uninteresting. I like the idea of fighting being more deliberate but the game doesn't seem to play like that. For example, the Act where your running around on the wagons; monsters leap off screen and land on top of you. Seems like the monsters chance to hit and damage are all pre-calculated prior to the monster even being visible to the player. I don't see where the "deliberate" play style is.

I appreciate that many felt POE1's Harvest league was OP. But I really enjoyed doping a Harvest and then improving a ring from say 19% of a resist type to 20%. It was enjoyable to incrementally update my character. POE2 feels like a moba game. The game seems very dumbed down compared to POE1.

The number one thing I find annoying with POE1 is the repeat of the Acts. And its something they have continued with in POE2. I know GGG have said those acts will come later but it seems they are spending the majority of their development resources doing things other than finishing the game. It feels very much like someone has decided near enough is good enough.

I have never much been interested in the people behind the game, I just play the game. I spent over a decade playing Eve online everyday day and other than knowing that CCP is in Iceland I cannot tell you anything about the people behind the game. But at the moment I see Johnathan appearing on various YT channels defending POE2. And each time I listen to his ideas the less I think POE2 is a game I would spend much time playing.

My experience with essentially the abandonment of POE1 development and with what POE2 looks and plays like I have found it easy to do other pursuits and I feel better for it.
and now they're mixed and only going to go up and ggg will learn nothing just like with poe 1 when it got to mostly negative recent reviews.

and the fact it's going up to mixed and eventually positive isn't because it's better and people are changing their minds... it's just how reviews work on steam. especially with the new "people" coming in with 1 hour saying the game is better than crack, but mostly the casuals that probably give every game a thumbs up
Has anyone done an open letter to the [Removed by Support] that simultaneously wants to keep player counts high but also punishes you to the tune of hours and hours of your life for getting killed by one of their glitches over and over?

I guarantee you that is the largest driver of attrition by far. Probably triple than the next one in line.

Seems like they don't even want this game to be successful in the way that it could be. Just happy to babysit Midas's turd.

poe1 became what it did due to said whining and ggg made poe2 to revert all of that it's never going to become as popular as poe1 if they keep up the vision that everything must be slow and full of friction on every action

also lets not forget how awful most leagues were at the start due to bad design decisions that were quickly buffed due to said "whining" if we shut up and just accepted their initial designs the game wouldn't have become as big as it did

Haha, I remember the Invasion League in Hardcore back in 2014, oh man, that was HARD AF in the first days. The invasion monsters could 1 hit you easily, especially that big blue worm that pops out of the ground and the inescapable spider hahaha that was funny af. Everytime I saw the spider I immediately logged out because it was... inescapable. Funny memories.

Exactly. The game became popular because the GGG of 10+ years ago listened to its userbase and adapted the game to what the gamers wanted. Its in the last few years that they decided to bring that ridiculous "vision" thing that started messing everything up.

By the way, that word "vision", I'm beginning to dislike. It has been very negative to PoE in the last years.

To not distort original meaning of vision term, can use vi$$$ion alternatively.
Some demons can only be cast out through prayer and fasting.
Keep pushing

As in, help the entitled, play-while-watching-TV brigade attempt to force their lame opinions on devs, before the game is even finished? No thank you
