![]() ![]() Pls articulate why a massive studio employing many people is indulging the niche tastes of only the die hards while the entire foundation of the game is pummeled to dust to satiate some ambiguous notion of "balance". Why make a loot based game if you are terrified of loot? Honestly just take it out at this point, it's false advertising, it's nothing but arbitrary stat checks. No theory crafting or fun is allowed at all in these painfully rigid balancing models that serve to deliver a watered down version of dark souls. The lack of inspiration in these mods and uniques are shocking for a game that's made by such a veteran and experienced team. Quite frankly, whoever it is on the design team that literally hates fun, needs to have their hands tied in terms of final decision making. Fun doesn't have to be imbalanced, its HARDER to balance, but it's a key ingredient. Like how's this GGG, add cool items then up the difficulty to compensate for said fun items. This genre has only been out for 20 years, it's understandable that maybe you never got 2 floors deep into diablo 1 and saw some fun item mods. Also, please address the elephant in the room and speak to the graphs. Quick edit: Yes I'm being a bit of an arse and smarmy myself. I just want this game to be fun. It's so painfully close to being SO GOOD. There are inherent and obvious internal problems seeing wheels spin in mud. Massive ammounts of effort and team moral seem to be being squandered on making this game WORSE to the vast majority of the player base. These aren't minor problems that will be ironed out, the game is actively veering off course and going down rabit holes that do not lead to dopamine hits and awesome loot. Like WTF is going on? It's fine if you have a vision, but it has to be a competent one, and one you are able to obtain. Vague notions ofa perfectly balanced and difficulty item based action game from start to finish is an abject contradiction. Ramp up the difficulty in the end, end game. Let people have fun with crazy powerful items before then, It's not friggin' rocket science. Is the majority of the game too easy for "leet players"? Ok, then do your job and design mechanics that provide challenges to them with proper rewards. No one is saying not to make a hardcore players dream, but it's on you the game creators to artfully create those mechanics. Currently this team seems hell bent on punishing the "plebs" so the "Leet" players can feel better about themselves. It's not just aweful design, it's morally questionable. Bought LE, refunded in 15m. Got frustratedenough with state of POE2 right now gave it another try. I can really tell there is something there that is fun. The abilities all feel lackluster in graphics etc but definitely had fun.
Could not shake the desire to play POE2 however. Everything felt trivial and easy in LE. Just feel that POE2 has no rewards for the harsh one shots, xp loss, etc. Got 1 div in this season and for now just stayin away. |
