Build restrictiveness is TOO DAMN HIGH. Devs, PLEASE watch this video.

really? I'd love a link or direct quote so I can start to wonder and maybe try to ask why they're using the same name and so many similar systems. and it's in the same world. with the same terminology. sorry, hadn't seen this one.
I don't have Twitter to search for it, but it was something like "PoE2 is now it's separate game, with different mechanics, different gameplay, different story, different this and that.".
But, because I hate playing with semantics to win an argument, I am open to say "PoE2 is still a sequel to PoE1", as I am open to say "Matrix 4 is a sequel to the Matrix Trilogy".
Does it play in the same universe and have a shared lore? Sure.
Does it even have some of the same characters? Sure.
But when they say they want to make their "own thing" with another "vision", I wouldn't view it as a sequel only because it has the same name, when the result is so different.

Vari#0223, you demand facts from people, not opinions. And you yourself do exactly the same thing! And I will not argue with you anymore.

Lotta excellent criticism, much of which I agree with.

It's weird the game gives players so much freedom to make decisions with their builds, while also constraining them to intended builds if they want to be effective or requiring an absurd amount of theorycrafting and game knowledge to dredge up out-of-the-box builds. All that freedom basically amounts to a potential for the player to make a plethora of bad decisions if they don't build the right way.

So essentially, as OP said, follow the build guide.

I'm enjoying PoE2 and I'm super hyped to see where it goes, but now "follow the build guide" is gonna be repeating in my head until I start feeling like I can get creative with my builds. We'll see what happens when all the weapons and classes are released, assuming they aren't just released with hundreds more constraining skills and supports intended to keep everything segregated.

POE2 has lost 80% of its audience since EA launch. The moment diablo 5 comes out you will all jump ship to that game and it will leave 5% of its original player base. If GGG listens to you there wont be a product and in the meantime in a desperate attempt to move POE1 people to POE2 they will stop development of POE1 but that wont work because we already know.

There’s absolutely problems that need addressing, defence being one of the biggest in my opinion. The devs are listening and constantly updating the game. You’re all over dramatic and your hot take on jumping ship for Diablo 5 is ridiculous. Diablo 3/4 have been abysmal and there’s zero chance in hell (pun intended) that Blizzard creates anything other than mindless click and win ARPGs full of micro transactions and predatory tactics moving forward. POE2 is off to a solid start and is far from complete. Their devs are competent, active in the community and responsive. Issues will be fixed.

Perhaps poopbutts2200 should have listen to the 40+ interviews where GGG clearly outlined what they vision was, how the gameplay should feel, and the overall direction POE 2 will be headed. They also broke down what target audience they wanted.

The POE2 that was intended as POE 4.0 and a direct successor?

Guys, did you even watch the video from the first post? I apologize, of course, but stop going off-topic!

And you know the answer like - "I feel like there are some super builds out there, the community just hasn't figured them out"...

OMFG! Let's give some specific examples and as a fan of build building, I'll definitely study your PoB link. The video is full of SPECIFIC arguments regarding the topic of the thread and I can give SPECIFIC examples, if anyone is interested of course...

that plays into what i posted earlier, they wont watch. heck most people wont even know the subtle changes in requirements are killing diversity.

This argument is the most infuriating. "Most people wont even know ..." Yes that is true because all of the people that know and funded this game are dropping it. This GAME has TenCent written all over it. This is not a game people play. This is a game designed to be punishing. All they need is the monetization to sell you waystone packs. Oh I am sure they wouldn't do that right? Look at TenCent's reputation in mobile games. Its atrocious.

What they did is take over a game company with a popular game where people like me had parted ways with our money willingly and turn it into a bastardized unfun game that bears LITTLE resemblance to the original other than superficially.

Ok GGG you think this is so great? Play the game and stream it on twitch. Except you have to use combos. No Lighting spear. No meta screen destroyer builds. You need to get power charges or frenzy charges, make your own path in the tree, no build guides. You just play it through t15 and show us how its done. THEY NEVER WILL because they don't actually play the game. Nothing this stupid would get past a company that played their own product.

Add some "The Arbiter" attempts to it. It's beyond my comprehension how they thought that THIS amount of one-shot mechanics is good boss design. And that's a complain from someone who loves bossing from the bottom of his heart. What? 60 Sirus A9 in one sitting, not because I need a drop from him, but instead, enjoy the fight? Yep, that's me.
But Arbiter? That's just lazy boss design.

I would look at it in terms of player defense. Bullet-Hell from the boss, why not? Give the opportunity to build defense in such a way as to counter this!

A bit of off-topic. They took away loot from bosses, destroyed boss-killer builds, destroyed the foundations - map-runers get fragments for bos-killers, the economy is in shit. In the end - why go to the late endgame if there is nothing there?

Honestly? I don't know why they are doing it.

Like... in PoE2, the HOWA meta in 0.1 could be seen as a balance issue, but instead of balancing the rarity (accessibility) of the item, they just nerfed it, and removed the major "selling point" of even doing the boss.

If you look at PoE1, "Nimis" is a good comparison. An extremely good item.
But instead of nerfing it into the ground, they locked it behind the "Uber" version of the boss AND made it incredibly rare. THAT creates the "need" to fight this boss over and over, while preventing everyone from playing a "Nimis" build because of its rarity (value). It became a long-term goal.

It became a long-term goal.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about!

Why should I play the game for another month? I won't build an incredible build, because there are no unique items cool enough to want them. And there is no way to craft top items for the build, so why should I collect resources for crafting?

Yeah, okay... I'm exaggerating a little, but how much?

In the last league of poe1, I crafted a helmet and a jewel and it took me 2 days for each item to collect resources, currency and crafting itself and it was fucking exciting! Now, in order to craft the perfect item ... damn ... I have to buy all the items from the market for months and in the end MAYBE get an item slightly better than what I have now? Or go to the simulacrum for half a year to MAYBE get "Megalomaniac" with two of the three desired nodes? NO THANKS!
