Reduce the xp loss on death penalty
" I actually genuinely agree, this is a problem even in POE1. It's obviously a thing in hardcore but in softcore it happens whenever you get close to a level. Especially if you're really up there like level 96. Like, okay well, I better not farm Sirus or something right now that could get me killed, let's just farm white T16s for a bit. And that's POE1, which is the LESS lethal of the two games right now. |

One way to deal with it, if they're so determined to make dying feel so incredibly bad, is reward the good with more good. Increase the xp gain substantially. If I run 20 maps, I shouldn't have to lose 20 maps worth of time and currency in just one death.

You could also make the argument on how soooooo many people default to just a few ridiculously overpowered screen one-button deleting specs in this game instead of actually enjoying it and playing its content. Its the only way to keep up with the economy...get really high level really quick, don't die, profit. If I wanted to play this game with such hearty penalties for death, I could just play hardcore. Then, I actually chose to suffer a great loss.

Death penalties existed in old games to pad out gametime, nothing else, and it made sense in a game like d2 since d2 is a singleplayer campaign focused game, not endgame grind, and in a dnd campaign you lose stuff on death.

" Never gonna happen. it looks for me like GGG stay solid with this idea...that`s why I stopped play this game after 0.2 patch....simple entertainment drops to ZERO and game has no sense. |

I cant disagree with you on that. I've felt it too. Seems like they forget that players are still supposed to be able to enjoy the "endgame".

One point of view I don't see much in those discussions around XP loss is the one of casual players.
I just finished the campaign today with my monk, level 66. Followed a guide, crafted a few decent items, did not struggle that much. Burnt through most of my exalts though, because that seemed cooler than trading which I don't enjoy much in ARPGs. And I'm getting MURDERED in maps. T1, no modifier, just the base thing. On top of it, XP LOSS IS EATING AWAY AT ME! Like, I can't trade stuff because I don't really have the currencies, I can't progress anywhere and the little gain I make, I lose instantly when dying? What am I supposed to do? Start another class and play the campaign again? Yeah, not gonna happen… So I'm probably gonna quit. GGG needs to realize the mental toll it takes on casual players that start the endgame… | |

My PoV was from a casual perspective, for the most part. The mods edited out some of my remarks, like the fact that I am older and just can't react the way the younger generations do or play as much as they do.

What level does XP loss begin?

|
" As soon as you start endgame, it's not level related |
