Reduce the xp loss on death penalty

Remove the death penalty, add unlimited portals to every map, and make trading AFK enabled. That way we’ll all be to lvl 100 by day 2 and instead of listening to us complain about friction the devs can listen to us complain about not having anything to do.
Honestly, why not let everyone get to level 100 easily?

Like this is a new game after all. Why does level 100 have to be difficult to attain?

Or should we just go back to how it was before, where it was really hard to do?

The only reason the penalty exists in the first place is to make the game closer to Diablo 2 where you lost XP and gold, and this is such a dull way to design a game, by just copying someone else.

If everyone is 100, no one is 100
Give us 10% first death on map, 15% secound, 20% third and so go on...

We must learn to play our build properly
Without a death penalty, offense always wins. Every build becomes “how fast can I kill before I die?” and defense becomes a luxury — not a necessity. The penalty creates stakes, which in turn create meaningful build decisions.

That’s the real driving force behind having a death penalty. I couldn’t care less how many people reach 100 and I’m sure GGG feels the same way.

Oh no!

What a shame!

Like the only reason you care is expectations from a different game, but this is prime time to change that expectation, right?

No idea what you're talking about, honestly

I care because it's one of the goals I have in the game when I make a character. If they make it too easy, then it becomes pointless to me

There are things in the game I would like to make easier so that it becomes less of a chore, but this one isn't one of them

If the game lost me, it must be the frustrated xp lost exp when dead.
I am of similar opinion, even if death penalty be brought down to 2% per death, at high levels its painful still.

10% is unreal.

Its truly silly design when gameplay pattern emerges:
"wow I will soon have level up, time to carefully grind boring content before I take risks"

That is the pattern which emerges, and its not fun at all.

Sir, this is poe2, offence already wins. Everything is about ranged dps glass cannons. The only ones who suffer from death XP penalty are people who just try to play some slow tank in their spare time, because most deaths are by melee tank chars not ranged dps, in the endgame at least.

"meaningful build decisions"
Yeah...getting annoyed with poe2 design, realising that just playing your own way is impossible, opening poe2 ninja and copy pasting lightning spear amazon. Wow, what a fascinating emergent gameplay.
