Changes to Act 3 Areas in Path of Exile 2
" my build was not destroyed, I have fun, I gave up Last Epoch after 15 minutes because it was boring to me. but I'm not on their forums raging, I just uninstalled and went away quietly like normal people do. if you think LE is better than go play it and have fun. vote with your wallet and time. extreme reactions to changes to your pixels are not helping anybody. " Yes, Few thousand hours on ARPG's seems enough to have reasonable opinion as it is still probably in 95+ percentile. And i am not telling those veterans to not have an opinion - everyone should feel free to share it. I am telling GGG to not listen to those people who want PoE2 to be PoE 1.5 because i believe there is a place for both. (One fast-paced, and one more souls like, one for relax after work, and other which requires focus and much more strategy and combo gameplay to clear) I feel sorry for those who are waiting for 3.26 so long. I hope GGG will deliver for them great fast-paced awesome content as soon as possible - but i don't want PoE2 to be replacement for that content. And yes there is much to change in PoE2 -> Probably monster speed is first that comes to mind. But i just want them to believe in their vision of having 2 different games :). Peace |

Matlan Waterways has literally zero point to be in the game in its current state. It exists to just pad out time.
Activate 12 levers to go through a snaking corridor with a big lever at the end. No rewards or anything from doing this or along the way. Yeah there's a special rare mob, but they never drop anything useful. Maybe if you want to keep the waterways as it is, when you activate the big lever at the end, it should drop something like a "Gain +10% to all elemental resistances" item which you keep on you and hand in to Doryani when you meet him, to make it worth running through in the first place. Otherwise, at least for me, the mere thought of having to run this level on every character playthrough is literally soul sucking. Again, it serves ZERO point other than to pad time. Otherwise, the changes you guys posted here are good so far. |

Thank you, good quick updates, please keep it up!
The early game indeed feels too rough, but simply fine tuning numbers can fix that. I'll give feedback about the positives too, because most people concentrate on the negatives. In the later stages so far I really love it and spear feels very good too once it gets going. The mapping feels much better than it did, activating towers with 3-4 strong tablets is big dopamine. The new monsters are nice, the exiles are fun to find, with their talking and movement. |

Last Epoch is still better. You still didn't address anything about how much of a slog the game is in prior acts. I'll stay away, thanks.

disclaimer: I really like poe2 vision (slower, methodical gameplay with multiple buttons).
Regarding foreseen changes, I can already tell you that it's not going to be enough though. Act 3 will remain huge after those changes (relatively to player's movementspeed). And to be clear, I believe that players' movement speed (including travel skills) is in the right spot atm. I'm sick of runnign with +120% MS in poe1, where you can't even see anything on the screen anymore but flashbangs... I will quote myself: " On top of that I am confident that the entire campaign (acts 1-6, not a cruel thing) should take no longer than 15-20 hours for casual player playing w/o a "build" (and ~13-14h for experienced player with a build, ~10-11h with a twink). Current implementtion of act 1-3 normal takes ~18-20 hours (based on my own exp, fresh start) and THEN you have to work your way through Cruel... GGG please take a look at act1 normal progression. It's almost perfect. - You traverse the map where areas have the right size so you have the sense of accomplishment and progress every few minutes. - The landscape is changing often and so is vibe, music and monsters. - On top of that you are not swarmed by 30-40 monsters so you have TIME to think and react (more methodical gameplay) - It continuously feel fresh, it's a pleasent journey. - drops, even scarce as they are, matter. You upgrade your gear. On the opposite side of the spectrum you have Act 3 (and maps), where: - areas are LARGE (just large & repetetive), - monsters density is through the roof (they are so many that they are bodyblocking themselves, it feels like a huge tide running at you, so the only response is to wipe them before they get to you). | - There is no sense of progres if every zone takes 25 minutes and you deal with same landscape, vibe, music and monsters. It becomes repetetive and tedious to the point that you want to skip monsters. - drops, even scarce as they are, don't matter. You barely upgrade your gear. Act 2 is somewhere in between. One more note from my end: - nerf gear, buff skilltree = level ups should make a difference. |

"Skeletal Warrior can no longer be engraved in the Gemcutting menu, as it was only provided as a stop-gap until this functionality was implemented. Existing copies of the Skeletal Warrior skill gem have been turned into Skeletal Sniper gems. The Skeletal Warrior skill granted by some sceptres now allows you to summon additional skeletons by reserving spirit, in addition to the two free skeletons it grants automatically."
I hate this change, i loved the power fantasy of being able to have a huge army of skeleton warriors under my command, now that this super basic skill is item bound, my hope of having that huge army is now bound to how much currency i have to pay someone for a top tier scepter, or RNG roll it. This sucks ass and on the surface for me makes skeleton warriors just flat out worse. Please reverse this and remove skeletal warriors off the scepter, and rather replace that scepter with something else. and also... Lich ascendancy as a summoner was a massive letdown.. oooo i get some bonus to chaos damage. woopdedoo, the warrior ascendancy and fire whitch still looks like a better choice for minions |
