Dawn of the Hunt - What We’re Working On

Sorc has been unfairly nerfed into the ground with the double mana cost on eldritch battery, the 6% max mana cost per cast with archmage enabled, and the huge reduction in mana regen from the nerf to arcane surge.
Cast a few spells and all mana is gone within two seconds no matter how much mana you have when using archmage and/or eldritch battery. It's absolutely ridiculous and I have yet to see or hear GGG even acknowledge the problems. All of the aforementioned skills are staples of the Sorc class, this isn't just impacting one Sorc build, it impacts all of them. Sorc is effectively unplayable in endgame right now (there's no way that anyone is going to be able to complete all of the Simulacrum waves with Sorc with the skills and passives in the state that they are in right now, regardless of how good their gear is). GGG need to completely remove the added mana cost from Archmage (we're already spending 100 spirit on it, that should be enough to get access to the added damage, which was already significantly reduced from what it was before). Eldritch battery shouldn't double mana cost. Maybe like a 10% or 20% increase would make sense but a 100% increase is ridiculous and makes the passive unusable and largely pointless. If you're really so intent on completely killing off Archmage and Eldritch Battery then just buff the damage on all Sorc skills and increase the base mana on the character to compensate and remove Archmage and Eldritch Battery from the game. If they aren't going to be viable to use then none of the damage and mana scaling on Sorc should be based on them at all. I'm personally going to step away from the game for a while and not spend any more money on it until these issues are addressed and Sorc is a playable class again. The only thing I can do at this point is to vote with my wallet. Last edited by rawdmon#8799 on Apr 8, 2025, 5:26:57 PM

It's quite clear that Mark understands the community and that Jonathan doesn't. What I'm witnessing in this interview is Jonathan wants it "my way or the highway" and Mark is willing to meet people halfway.
POE2 is in BIG BIG BIG TROUBLE with Jonathan running the show. |

If the minion life is going to stay in its current state, why not add some skill where minion life is base + x% of player life, or something like that? Current and patched minion life is miserably low and they're always dying, especially in encounters that includes aoe.

Honestly, the only thing that can save POE2 is if you get the latest source code for version 0.1 and add the new content and that's it. This patch was the worst update ever made to an arpg in history. |

The changes that are needed is to buff abilities so that it makes it viable to play other builds and classes. The 100+ support gems was where I had hoped that this would be the point of compensation for all the over-the-top nerfs, but the majority of these are useless or need multiple additional steps to trigger. These nerfs are making the game unplayable and what's the point then? These seem to have been based off a small percentage of top players that could achieve these crazy builds, where as the average / casual player now has to pay the price... I do love this game and understand that it is early access, but for the love of Wraeclast, don't push out your players to the point of uninstalling.

I've been playing HC trade league this season and having a blast. So, I don't align with these massive complaints from these players, and why they have to over embelish their problems and be so infantile about it, their ego was simply hurt. Honestly let them die in the apex of filth. They will continue to be finicky. GGG do not design your game around these over sensitive over embelished complaints. They can't even formulate their own opinion. Lets be real They are spoiled gamers. Remember, that there are still thousands of us that like the gritty difficult atmosphere, and feel rewarded through the challenge. The games still in beta early access keep up the great work.
