7 GOD DAMN people working on performance issues for POE 2, straight from their mouths on live stream
|
TBH, I find GGG, well Jonathan really, has a habit of deflecting a lot of blame to other sources and doesn't seem to like player feedback. If you watch his interviews, every concern players bring up is "we don't agree." "I think it's more fun this way."- kind of answers.
Console loot filter for POE2 Please!

The game needs the Starfield treatment, ggg did NOT do a good job at optimization, some maps and effects destroy your fps, the usage in both cpu and gpu have some crazy spikes

Funny thing. Considering all the suck slop we've been getting lately comes from teams of hundreds of people. I am glad to see a single digit number. It has become blatantly obvious throwing more people at games doesn't not make a better game. In fact I am convinced big numbers working on game = more likely to be bad. 7 people that are good at what they do not having to pass everything they do through 50 other people. Yes, please, gimmie more of that.

sounds like someone is playing game on a pos computer lmao

I can't remember any FPS issues by playing PoE2, and i saw mostly good words about performance
so uhh yeah |

Should they focus on getting out the stuff they promised on release and that impacts 100% of players OR focus to the 1% of player that can't play the game properly because of some random custom configuration doesnt work for them?
It's a really hard choice to make... |

MAYBE if players that moan about performance upgraded their pcs' now and again stop trying to run games on 5-10 year old pcs they wouldnt have issues when new games release .
no performance issues here at all ...... |

Even Jonathan acknowledged that the game needs further work on it's performance. The people being rude about other peoples pcs need a reality check. Just because something does not happen to you does not mean it's not an issue. My pc is new built in november with the best gaming cpu on the market and a good gpu with it. Once the dozen plus grenades from minions start flying on top of dozens of other effects though there is a noticeable drop in frames, this is at 4k max settings so I could bump the quality down if it became truly unplayable. Happily even with the lower frames during busy combat it's smooth enough for me.
Some people are running builds with a LOT of effects that stack on top of each other and all the effects tank their fps even on powerful hardware. Stop being purposefully obtuse as a means to brag, nobody is impressed with your willful ignorance. I am glad to see devs recognise the issue of these various crashes and the need for further optimisation and that the rude peoples opinions in here are going ignored. People who cannot play are not going to pay, it's that simple. And so it needs fixing. |
|
" you say top end built in november without saying what cpu and gpu, memory , what hd etc , so your post isn't helpful to players struggling with performance as they wont have a benchmark to compare against , listing your setups that don't have performance issues will help those that do giving them something top compare with . |
