Announcing Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt

^ Did you watch the official interview before coming in here to spread more "wipe" shenanigans ?
While the snow remains,
veiled in the haze of evening,
a cold leafless branch.
Flowers are only flowers because they fall,
but thankfully the Wind.

I think this is a huge mistake not to do a full wipe. Everybody that don't start fresh will just give a wrong impression. Imagine making a huntress in the existing leagues with leveling uniques and prerolled items. It will just faceroll through the game giving zero reliable info about leveling curve/skill scaling etc.

It's the exact opposite. Since most people will probably start with huntress on reset legue, GGG will have a lot of fresh start data. Keeping an addtional playerbase with access to uniques will give GGG additional data on huntress scaling with gear on early levels of play, which they will not get a lot from a reset league.

You guys didn't really watch the stream did you?

Jonathan pretty clearly stated that feedback from people who choose to stay in standard isn't valuable to GGG because they are choosing not to play the game as the developers intend.

I wouldn't worry too much about standard players jamming up the feedback loop.

What I WOULD worry about is the fact that a supposedly "placeholder" endgame map system now appears to be receiving serious development time and will likely be the system we end up with at release.

The atlas needs scrapped or completely reworked IMO. The fact that I can't zoom out to see my entire atlas to choose how to proceed is a glaring oversight. Above and beyond that, the often repeated gripe that we're forced to play maps we don't want to just to navigate around is valid and needs addressed.

But hey, at least we get breaches in towers... or something...

I have high hopes for PoE2 and things are moving in the right direction overall, but damn does GGG seem to be focused on some things that are concerning.

OR....it will give a quicker insight into how existing items can make or break gameplay.

Besides, some of us don't want to do all of our characters again. If they really wanted the "start fresh" data, they could encourage SSF or make a new league. Please...make an SSF and let the rest of us explore at a faster pace.

I watched the videos, and I didn't hear them say that once. In fact, he even joked about seeing what new items will do to make broken builds. Ergo, they want to see how the new classes and items will work in the current gameplay.

Now, if I'm wrong, please give a time stamp in the video where he said what you're indicating. Otherwise, please stop gaslighting.

If that was a focus for them, they'd make a new league or encourage SSF. Neither is the case. In fact, it makes a better case that they'd want to see the higher level gameplay and gear to test out those aspects, since getting through the campaign is minor compared to the end game.

boring and underwhelming. not enough for 4 months of nothing.

Yeah...nothing to see here. You should go back to some other game. We'll let you know when they make a consumable that makes you level 100, 1,000 spirit, invulnerable, and gives a one shot screen wipe mechanic. Until then, have fun!

It's in the Q&A

"Any character that comes from before, you're just not gonna, because the balance is so different, and so many things have changed, there's like no point in even listening to feedback from someone who is playing in the old league." ~Jonathan

Turns out you're the one gaslighting.

No, because unlike what you've portrayed, I listened to beyond that statement and listened to the CONTEXT of what they were saying. They were talking about how leagues need unique challenges, challenges that regular league can't provide as a temporary challenge. Leagues need unique characteristics that expire when the league expires. Ergo, the changes in 0.2.0 are meant to be permanent, so listening to feedback from standard league and applying it to league play doesn't work.

They further explained that that, and for a few other reasons such as new player influx, is why they applied these changes to standard play instead of creating a new league for just these changes.

The gaslighting is back to you now.

i watched q&a 20 minutes jonathan talking before my gf had me switch it off cause she had a attention buffer overflow.
seriously, can you point me to the time mark is saying something substantial? the whole 2leg crossing in the same direction" and not allowed to say something made me really feel uncomfortable.

what's the release date?

--- edit: kept watching and it got a bit better
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
