Toxic community
For real,
I never once posted here in years. I've been playing PoE1 since the Perandus league. Never once had anything to say on the forum. And you know what? People are so fucking entitled, it's fun. You are all complaining that a company is doing something. You want everything right now. You think that 4 months is a gigantic time without understanding that everything is happening fast for them. Vacation? Who cares about Christmas? People don't deserve a life. Well, no PoE1? You're just piece of craps. Now, people are working on both, and is it hard? Shit, new ascendencies, new class, new gems... Those are just stupid as fuck, not enough? You all are acting as if you have no other things to do in life. You're not offering proper feedback, you are just being mean. It's not conservative, it's going as far as threatening people sometimes. It's disgusting. People have NO self-control. None at all. Touch some grass, I dunno. I am disgusted to see messages about PoE2 every time I play PoE1. I'm disgusted to see complaints on complaints when I play the second. People can't literally enjoy something. And, that's an EA. You know what you signed up for when you bought it. And even then, it's 30$. NO ONE ALSO FORCED YOU. You feel it's not worth your time? Leave, please. Your voice will have so much more impact then. I love the game, I can understand the flaws, I know them. I am hoping it will improve, if it doesn't, I'll leave. But... You're all making it sound like you're doing something good when you're just going on a keyboard warrior rant. It's too much, get a grip. In the end, it's not all the community, but the vocal part? It's insane... I can just start the trailer video 30 min' after release, it's already negative. Why? Because they released the class they said would release first. Insane. I agree with the sentiment. That said, on the flipside, GGG designed a game that appeals to the most degenerate no-life players so you're going to end up with them in your community.

" No-lifers are pretty much the smallest parts of any community (other than RPers in PoE maybe). Even if every single one of them was toxic, it wouldn't have much of an impact as the noise would be so tiny. Also, they're usually the ones writing guides or providing tools and resources. There are two reasons why the forum is the way it currently is: - You don't need PoE2 access to post here. A free PoE account can post and troll and boy do we have a lot of trolls and brigading going on. - Blizzard players. These players are well known to be extremely entitled from other games and have caused other communities to literally die because they're just more whiny and louder than everyone else. However, if you want to find the most toxic playertype there is, I'd highly recommend you to check out a non-mobile P2W MMORPG like anything from NCSoft. |

They took money saying Early Access was going to finish by the end of 2025 and then didn't release a single piece of new content for what will be over four months by the time 0.2 drops.
That's an abysmal showing, especially since the class they're "releasing" next was already playable TWO YEARS AGO. |

Coming in here and name-calling or trash-talking a bunch of people. Sounds like OP just joined the "Toxic Community".
I think people reflect what they feel is being cast upon them. In this case, Toxic Devs. Through their inability or unwillingness to listen to and respond to feedback, going back on their word, and in general just being non-transparent. A stark contrast to the reputation that was built over a decade of hard work. |

" Not a former Aion player are you? That game even made the LoL community look like saints. |

The community is toxic, but it has nothing to do with the game. Most of us live in a world where our economic prospects are getting worse. Our parents owned houses we rent and are in debt. Our society doesn't allow us to be outraged at these circumstances. Instead, we are only allowed to be outraged as consumers of products. So GGG ends up taking a lot of heat that should be directed elsewhere.

" I totally disagree, why include real world problems in your argument? Unless you're an RMT, your argument has no relevance at all. It is just a game at the end of the day. And it has something to do with the game cause it caters to those degenerate no lifers who are too entitled. Nevertheless, it really doesn't matter because it shows they care. Albeit some suggestions are mostly selfish, I want this same compassion from gamers. |

Beep Boop. Early access games come with significant challenges. Players are exposed to an unfinished and potentially unpolished product, which can lead to negative reviews and a tarnished reputation if not managed properly. The pressure to deliver frequent updates, bug fixes, and new content to keep players engaged can be intense, and if the initial launch is not handled carefully, it can result in poor sales and bad reviews.
Moreover, early access can create unrealistic expectations among players, who may demand continuous updates and improvements. Community management becomes a critical aspect of early access, as developers must engage with the community to address feedback and maintain player satisfaction. This can be time-consuming and demanding, often becoming a second job for developers. Biggest advice, if you ever want to develop a game, never do it through EA. Find the funding elsewhere to save face for everyone. |
