Warning for Ultra widescreen Mod after I disabled it

Why have I not heard that from GGG?^ Why do I just hear hate over the hardware I have? All I can do then is have a backlash against them and not support them at all in their future as others are choosing as well.

Yep. This is exactly what I have chosen too. I don't really want to risk my account being banned as its linked to steam and I invest at least a couple 100$ in the game.
There are still things I want to get, like more character slots and stash tabs, but me getting that is out of the question because of lack of ultrawide and lack of communication about it.

I have been playing a couple different games as I'm not so into PoE 2 at the moment (even though I mostly like the changes in the newest patch as I thought the game was too easy before). None of the games I've been playing don't support ultrawide. One of the games is Schedule 1, which is developed by a single person.

Another of the games I tried was Khazan the First Berserker. I actually refunded it because I thought combat was too focused around "timing" rather than "reaction speed". I wrote a review where I explained that, and the developers actually responded to it thanking me for the feedback. It was even clear the person responding had read the review as he was referencing specific things I had mentioned and thanking me for the feedback.
Wild contrast to what we are getting here from GGG.

I also want the game to be harder. Which makes for an interesting point in my opinion.

There are some types of feedback where its completely legitimate to have differing opinions. For example, it feels good to have a strong GODLIKE character that destroys everything. But if it gets handed to you for free it doesn't feel rewarding.

So it creates a spectrum of balance, and people will have differing opinions on where in that spectrum the game should be.

In comparison, whether or not to support ultrawide or not is a completely binary issue. Its bad not to support it. Its good to support it.

I think an issue like that creates a much stronger reaction from those affected by it and it is further aggravated by the complete silence and lack of explanation from GGG.
i would definitely play the new league and find out myself if i like the changes or not, but as soon as i got the cheater notification, all intention to play was gone.
when this game was released, i pretty much no-lifed it. took 2 weeks off of work and played 18 hours a day. got to 500h in 2 months and loved every second of it.
and i was really looking forward to the new league, but im not downgrading my experience and play with worse immersion than at release. after hundreds of hours in 32:9, the game is just not the same in 21:9 and its reason enough to stop playing.
It's just sad that it's 2025 and dev's still think 32:9 gives an advantage in ARPG's. Even with the black bars you know enemies are there.

If it's related to "Competitive" play they could easily force the black bars for that and remove it for casual play (IE. Doing the campaign).

UE5 supports 32:9 native. The devs "CHOOSE" to put the black bars there as an overlay. Maybe take advantage of it and instead of putting black bars, have some sort of changing UI element so at least the full screen is being used.

For the record, I too have a 32:9 monitor but NEVER use mods in online games because you are putting files into the game directory that is turning off the black bars. Most auto-detection programs for cheats will flag an extra file in the directory as "suspicious" and then ban you.

The main reason dev's don't like 32:9 is because then they have to think about it when designing the game. As minor as it is to us, it does have a major impact on the dev process.

The reality is, 32:9 monitors are a niche. I knew this going in when buying one. It impacts me very little if a game does not support it. I'd still rather have the option for games that do support it, then not have it at all. If you make your gaming decisions based on aspect ratio... then I that's a personal problem.

Would I like 32:9 in POE? Yes.
Do I think it's every going to happen? No, GGG got bigger things to worry about, like making a enjoyable game.

You just stated the problem they're trying to avoid in that same last sentence even though you tried to cover it for them. "Making an enjoyable game"
For many of us here, as soon as they took away 32:9, the game for us just became un-enjoyable. Hence, still a big problem. We don't really know how big because not all of us will voice out here upon it. Some may even play anyways, until maybe they notice their monitor has burn-in. Who knows? But, for a true fact, taking 32:9 away has taken enjoyment away. And that right there, even though it's not a core part of the game, should never be done in a game. Why? Because it's still part of the "enjoyment" category. So it should be handled as such. Come up with a solution or allow it in game before you even EVER think it's a problem and say you're going to ban people over it. They took this way too far out of line. Which is why we respond this way in return.

As for me, I now have bought Last Epoch. So far at the start it's been easy. "Chose to be warrior like". The the point is. I'm STILL playing it, going to play it more today. Do my work life. Come back to my vacation days and play it more. Supports 32:9. Wow, as if this is that hard to allow and you'd have more support into the game. Last Epoch, even has a category where you can play it offline! That surprised me. It shows me respect to their gamers. I really like that. What a difference between the 2.

this is ridiculous 32:9 is cheating but all that dupeing going on no one gives af

even worse all the scammers can continue scamming people all day long and ggg doesnt give a shit. but lets get rid of all those "cheating" 32:9 players.
(as of today still only 8k people downloaded the ultrawide patch. and there was a new version in february too, so its actually way less than 8k people really using it)

i really thought ggg is different than other devs, boy was i wrong. would definitely refund my 480$ pack if i could, but lesson learned.

I cannot help that my monitor (hardware) that I use is considered cheating with this game. I have the 32:9 monitor, own it, not going to buy another for the sake of 1 game. However, what could be done, is a solution by GGG as others have done. Other games do it and have no problem. I play many other games that allow it (just bought one called "Last Epoch"), no issue. The whine then here against it, is obsolete. POE2 is considered out of date/tune when it comes to this issue and they have not made the solution. And they don't even respond here to us upon it when this thread keeps going. As I do and others probably do in relationships. Ignore me long enough, I will eventually ignore you. When that becomes reality. If they decide to all of a sudden allow or "fix with a solution" the 32:9 problem, for who knows what reason at the time. I simply may not come back and ignore them as I feel I was ignored. GGG needs to straigten up and listen to their player base with understanding. I watched their interview with Zizaran and was not impressed on how they treated him. Not all of us are ridiculous or ask for absurd things.

Here's a simple fact. What we're asking for here with 32:9 CAN be done in several different kinds of solutions to it. For that reason, I cannot and will not stand for those who oppose it on a simple notion that "it's cheating". There's no reason whatsoever for opposition to it when it CAN be done with one of the many solutions. As said before, I play games that have done it. This game is out of date when it comes to this and it should not be.
Post this quickly, yes they somewhat listened to Zizaran. I know. But I see it as, look what the guy went through to be heard.
they really dont have to do much for us to be happy and start playing the game. just one little tweet: "we wont ban anyone for 32:9" and i would make some coffee and start playing. the fix is already here since release and we have been playing for hundreds of hours.

we are a huge minority, probably only 1-3 thousand people, way less than 1%. thats why this whole thing is just so silly and stupid.
