Are our levels really going to be reset once the new season starts?

Can someone give me exact details if they are available about how the new season will start. Like im dead-a$$ about to drop this game if my levels actually reset i dont have another 100 hours to re level my character i have school and work

Your current character will be moved to the standard league. IT will not be deleted. The exception being when they change the passive tree. When that happens you will normally be given a chance to use a full passive tree respec.
The new league will need a new character to play in it. Everyone starts out fresh in new leagues.

Seasons are not "my character going back to Level 1" , you have to start a season just like a new player would : new character & empty stash = big hard reset .

If you don't want to reset because you want to keep playing with your current lvl-100 character and full-of-stuff stash , you can still play regular content but you will never have access to seasonal content .

You dont have to play the new league. But if you do then yes its a full blank slate. No items, no gold, nothing but a level 1 character. Else you can play your old character forever on standard league.

This is how POE works.

Why do you guys keep thinking our EA characters are going to be in standard? It clearly states we are going to end up in a league called early access. Seperate from standard. Do you really think GGG would let your EA character start in standard with all your loot while new players start with nothing? You would be able to get a jump on the market and manipulate it. So no, we are all going into a league called EA. If you want to be in standard upon release, you will need to make a new character.

It is basically a wipe. No one wants to play in "standard" or "early Access" league because it doesn't get the new content.

This isn't exactly true. The new content does come to standard later. So as long as you are OK with waiting for it you are fine just staying in standard. Yes there are people who would rather do this. I did in POE 1.

We will do new leagues but none of your characters will be wiped, they will just go to a league called Early Access (so they will never be in Standard). In some cases characters in old leagues might be somewhat broken by balance changes though. After launch the "Early Access" characters will still exist.
