What happens when even the soul of PoE gives up?
"He didn't give up. He cashed out and is now living his best life. Selling to Tencent, porting to console and expanding all were business decisions he made to further grow the company. It did grow, tremendously. Let's not frame this in a way that he took flight because everything went to shit, according to the doomsayers anyway. But it was always communicated that he will stay for some occasional poe 1 developement(that is not affected by the new game, lol), so it seems this exit is kind of spontanious and related to recent events. Therefore a statement would have been nice. Of course we don't know what they agreed upon, if GGG maybe doesn't come out first out of respect for CW and it is upon him to make a statement who knows... |

Chris himself said that they were working on that release for at least two years (Source: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1970529) - Path of Exile wasn't announced until 2019. That's a lot of years in-between where PoE 1 was still the main focus. "We don't need a statement because at the end of the day it isn't our business. |

Soul of PoE is the community not a dev. You people put too much stock in one person that has most likely been gone for a while. The only reason it was changed on the website now is because of a new fiscal year. Common business knowledge.

i expected him to leave at some point but not in this manner.
