Namelocking: The Source of All Skill Clunkiness and Combat Feel Issues

+1 for toggle

controller players need this, would be way more enjoyable if PC players could shut this trash off tho

"Enable Hover Cursor"

If on click, click a monster and it will aim it until dead or another is clicked.

On hover, keep your cursor on/around the target.

Both are made more lenient with a larger default cursor size.

I believe they made some changes to how targeting works because it was a bit sticky, but increasing the cursor size and enabling whichever option you prefer should fix your problem.

Doing the inverse and turning those options off or reducing cursor size and keeping on one will make the locking easier to control if you have the problem of it being too sticky.

See above, I think they did update it because I had a lot of trouble usually but not in 0.3 and the options have been separated so you can toggle both now

I can just imagine some GGG employee in a backroom somewhere reading the bit about trying to escape with Leap Slam mumbling something like "yea that's intentional, if you want to escape use an escape skill not a dive attack".

That feels like something GGG people would say, in some windows of the development pipeline.

Dodge roll is definitely an escape skill. And yet... (see above).

The most idiotic case of namelocking in poe 2 is when you dodge roll to avoid a boss AoE 1-shot, but your character immediately turns around and runs back into the certain death.

Well, the thing about that, is that that's very much your own fault.

You're character is running forward because you're still holding down the button for a melee attack that requires getting close to the enemy to use it.

Let go of the button.

When you dodge away, you're clearly done with that set of spamming that attack. So stop. Let go. End the combo.

You are wrong. This happens without holding down any buttons.
