The games officially dried up for me

"
I find it absolutely crazy it took PoE2 fans this long to realize the game sucks. Like.. one look at the gem system and it should've been painfully obvious just from that. Because gems are limited to 1 per type, there's no room for goofy fun builds where for instance you just proc a bunch of poison off random skills and have fun. Nope, you can proc poison off ONE skill and the rest need to complement it. Which leads to... forced running a minus resists gem, a herald, and a penetration gem.

How a gaming company manages to make a game worse than the original Diablo in 2025 is insane.

The game companies already figured out the formula for printing money. Sponsor shill streamers to play your crappy game, and it comes back to you at a 10 to 1 ratio. Invest that same money in your crappy game, the ratio isn't the same.

Why make a decent game when you can pay Kripparian 50k to make a video that will net you $5 million longterm?

Everything they did was also intentional. Limiting gem systems and 1 shot mechanics = cortisol/stress hormone spikes, which game devs know will lead to COSMETIC PURCHASES.

Low-T betas love showing off pricey armors nobody of value ever looks at for more than a second. Low-T betas love playing the game Quinn420 and Krippshillian tell them to. "OMG I'M PART OF THE SQUAD". Play a sport, ffs.

If you played every day for a month, the game didn't suck. It's okay to not be an alcoholic and move on for now. People like OP who WANT to be nonstop addicted to something are baffling.

Stop running op meta builds if you don't want to burn out so fast. Pick a class/build that gives you a challenge instead (like check poe2ninja for the least used class/build).

Who said none of that garbage was tried? Slow and uninteresting. That's why. Frost Sorc? yah, no. been there, done that. Ive played every iteration of WH and that's even worse. Monk, dear lord baby jesus.... If you're not running ICE Strike, you're wasting your time.

Nobody in their right mind is running an elemental spec without Harolds. If you are, you're losing more than a third of your damage. Period. The design isn't bad, we just need more options. The game needs other interesting Aura affects.

Just off the top of my head here's a few ideas.

Blood Lust - An aura that gives you a 30% chance to proc an extra swing on melee ability use.

or, an anti crit based metric. Eventual Demise - For every melee ability that doesn't crit, you're next attack will gain 15% crit chance and continues to stack until you get a crit. If the stack goes more than 5 stacks, your next melee ability gains 300% more damage and resets your stacks. If you get no crit beyond 2 consecutive 5 stacks, your next hit will hit 500% harder and spreads ailment in a radius. From there it completely resets. So on and so forth.

They could even add anti crit nodes in the passive tree to further incentivize using the build. 3 nodes. 2 give you -15% crit chance and the third gives -40% crit chance.

basically you gain a strong reason to not feel pigeon held to run a crit build as a melee class.

There are literally endless things that they could come up with that could be lightyears better than the 2 Harolds everybody is running right now.

It's only frustrating until you make it work!
Well, it's not as if it was a bad thing to put the game away for a while. It's a beta, it has limited appeal and currently very "limited" playtime to anyone not interested in the game's economy or the, IMO, relatively shallow endgame it has.

Early game is pretty fun IMO. Endgame is not, and build diversity is relatively low, so there's not a lot of reason for me to come back until both those things change.

The only thing you can do is voice your concerns, write down your suggestions/feedback and let GGG work with that while you take a break from PoE2. Come back in 3-4 months if/when there are new classes and hopefully new support gems to give us more than the currently very limited choices we have and if the game still feels as bad, well, at least you wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

so why do you keep coming here and posting?

i dont go on forums or games i dont like just to make negative posts

can you imagine going to a restaurant where you dont like the food everyday just to tell them "your food sucks"?

if you dont like it go elsewhere maybe instead of spreading negativity.

Jesus Christ, this. If you don’t like the game, constructively explain why or kick rocks. It definitely has issues that need addressing, but your little whiny rants are pathetic and of no particular value.

I agree with this sentiment and take. I tried other builds as well and they were too slow. Even if I was OK with that, the deaths were too punishing. I don't want to risk so many things so I do what most people do, play those broken meta builds so it's not as punishing and you one shot everything before they one-shot you.
You MAKE it work.

Ill go play something else
