Should PoE2 take the back seat?
" Pretty much. And both those points (map layouts and tower mechanics) are probably deal breakers for me. I doubt I will ever be able to enjoy the flow (or lack there of) of the endgame grind if those mechanics remain/persist. And what do they do? Band-aiding bad mechanics, with waypoints in bad layouts and more bad towers. It's baffling, really. I've said this before, but it can't be said enough: ARPG's will, especially in the endgame, always be repetitive. There's no way around that. So an endgame needs to be designed in such a way that the repetitiveness is as enjoyable as possible. Bad layouts and meaningless tower mechanics work against that in a major way. " Maybe you're not reading or paying attention: the last COUPLE YEARS OF POE1 LEAGUES WERE MADE BY 7 PEOPLE this was during the heaviest POE2 work. 4Chan is a place where mentally unwell people go to play pretend and make up stories for other mentally unwell people. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

Come on, guys.
Some people in here base all their arguments on a "leaker" that can't really structure a sentence on 4Chan, while others base all of their numbers on a fantasy number of developers working on PoE 1. We don't know anything. All we can do, is look at the facts: - We got 2 (two) PoE 1 leagues in 2024, only half of what we're used to - One of those two leagues, will probably be running for almost a year. - We used to get "expansions" once a year, with additions to the endgame. Can't remember last time we got one of those. People preferring the better game are clearly getting the short straw. The reasons don't really matter, but we all know those reasons can be shortened with a abbreviation ending with a "2". We all knew this would happen, no matter what we were told. It ALWAYS happens. I'm only disappointed about the scope. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
