is this really the first time youve failed a breachstone shady?
im guessing the devs presumed people would know failing the timer locked you out of the boss long before they got to a flawless breach stone attempt? no? it just seems alien to me i guess cause i knew failing them locked you from the boss in breach league which feels about 10 years ago but flawless stones were added? i wanna say 3 years ago? 4? more? less?
christ, 43 with adhd, my brain has just left building. sense of time = 0
T16 is where its at. if you make an endgame build it should do T16 maps handily, then its fine. the rest of it that is significantly harder? some builds can do some things, others can do other things. there are builds that can do all things but usually some of them suboptimally. any time i make a build that can do everything, all the ubers all the flawless etc it seems like an abomination and i dont play it much. it warps your sense of what playing a game should feel like if you let yourself wallow in such wanton debauchery for too long, clickerheros brainrot.
a flawless breach stone is not something there for everyone to do, its just there for the builds that can do it to have something to do, a reason to exist and push that far.
As I've mentioned who knows where at some point, yeah, I take very long breaks from PoE at a time. I did all of the normal Breachstones that same day, prior. They were no problem, minus Esh taking a while to kill because I'm a lightning build (that might need to run Pen instead of Ele Focus, at least in that fight). Well that, and Netol almost one-shotting me with one of the attacks one time, which I'm not sure if I could have avoided or not.
After that, I saw I had a Xoph Blessing, and said fuck it, let's try it. I was familiar with the huge jump of Normal Atziri to Uber Atziri, but having easy'd the normal Breachstones, I felt that if it was a similar jump, I was ready for it.
In the normal Breachstones, there is still a time mechanic. But I never had to learn the hard way what happens if it runs out. The map always says "1 monster remaining," so I kind of figured that the timer was just for the loot burst at the end of the push. I did consider it might have been about whether or not I get to fight the boss, too, yes. But - as stated - I deal a few million burst AoE damage per set of Unleashed Seals (5x max, with double 30% cluster nodes, so I fill 5x Seals every 2 seconds). I have literally not yet encountered groups of trash that can survive me, and Xoph's domain wasn't Esh's domain.
I had, quite literally, no reason to expect what ended up happening, despite what the Hindsight Heroes will say.
1) The timer was significantly smaller than the normal one. Anyone who says I should have expected that is being disingenuous. (Should I have also expected smaller pathways? Smaller bridges? Maybe my character will be smaller. Maybe my RAM will be smaller. Maybe my computer chair will shrink! Absolutely ridiculous, which is why I call them Hindsight Heroes.)
2) The tankiness of the trash mobs was not only tankier than ANY other trash mobs I've encountered thus far (and I've done other uber content)... but they were tankier than most BOSSES. I can kill T16 map bosses quicker than some of those blue mobs. HOW can anyone say that I should have expected that??? Totally insane. Super disingenuous.
I suppose I need to just "embrace the content I CAN do." But that just feels so wrong to me... It's weird for a game to make ALL this content, and INTENTIONALLY design the game so that most builds have to pick & choose which of these content areas they will be able to do. I always felt like the game should be us picking which content areas we WANT to do, with any build that we like playing, as per decided by the playstyle and visual appearances of the build itself... rather than the logistics of what content that build can even clear in the first place.
It just seems backwards. And I know everyone's response to that is, "WELP THAT'S JUST HOW IT IS!" ... But that's why I see it as everyone being in raggedy clothes, reaching out for that soup. You guys have major Stockholm syndrome. It's okay to want things to be better, lol. But it's like you guys don't even KNOW that you're dealing with problems.
But ultimately... you cannot convince me that, if you woke up one day and found that your... Simulacrum character is now also able to complete Uber Ultra Omega Sirus Shaper, as long as you played well and put in the time and effort into the fight... that you would see it as a bad thing.

You don't need to embrace the content you can do. You need to embrace the content your character can do.
Thanks for all the fish!

Heh. My character can do Maven, it's just I who can't bypass Memory Game, kek. Checkmate. :P
I know it's a joke, but people beat Maven without succeeding with the memory game :)
Thanks for all the fish!

*Ahem*, I meant deathless. I can beat her with a few portals, yes, though that feels like cheating. My character technically could tank it if I were to rebuild it a little to obtain Spell Suppression.
I think failing it (to start) was baked into the difficulty, so I have a hard time considering that cheating. Eventually it becomes second nature and deathless becomes easy after a few tries on non-uber Maven.
Thanks for all the fish!

Which Character could? Mavens Memory Game damage can´t be suppressed. Also in your pob your character has to be able to tank the damage 3 times, since it hits 3 times.

Oh, yeah, my bad, I meant Atziri's Empowered Flameblast, actually. You are right about Memory Game, I forgot it should be 3 times when I checked. I played around with the config last night, just remembered wrong.
With 100% Spell Suppression, though reworking it for that would cut my DPS in half.
Ah I see. Was just curious, since its a hell a lot of damage needed to be tanked lol.

Yo dude welcome to POE you either good enuff to do the content or you are not the prices are inconsequential would you have came to the forum and complained if the Breach stone you bought/saved up for was like 2 chaos? probably not.
Prices are made by players nothing to do with GGG so the "4 div" price you claim the breach stone is worth is set by the player base.
WITH that said, the "timer" is the same for every single player everyone gets the same experience the point of the Breach stone being a high quality is hard content more challenging, not all content is ment to be ran by all characters.
Thats why you can make multiple character each season, i normally have a mapper/MF character, a Bosser, and a Challenger (to get 40/40) IF you think a non high spec character or someone with low skill/knowledge of the game should be able to run all content then you are sadly mistaken.
Welcome to POE my friend =)

Let me just quote myself here, so I don't have to explain it all again:
"
The only boss I hate in PoE 1, as in legitimately hate attempting, is Maven. I've killed her only a handful of times and hated it. I physically cannot remember (not an exaggeration*) -snip-
* (Seriously, no joke, I have a memory/brain problem and physically cannot remember sequences higher than 7, and 6 is usually my limit before I start making mistakes.
"
-snip- I sometimes draw a blank on what I already used/did/said/whatever (trust me, it's incredibly annoying), so even a simple sequence can throw me off if the chain becomes too long. On the contrary, my long term memory is excellent and I pick up things very quickly. Doctors are at a loss. I've been told it could be early signs of dementia, but that does not explain my excellent long term memory.
This isn't a matter of skill issue, it's a matter outside of my control.
Understood. I suspect there are memory methods that reduce the number to remember to less than each individual sector, but I never thought about it.
Thanks for all the fish!
