GGG if you want to retain players number you have to add an Auction House
Auctionhouses in ARPGs are awful just look at D3. It ruins key ARPG aspects and if anything it makes ppl quit faster. Since if you can buy anything at any time and your loot 99% is worse than cheap ah items ppl will use it and get bored.

I agree with you that trading is exhausting and unfun, but GGG basically have this delusional view of trading being this super engaging and social thing while in reality most players find it a nuisance, never interact with each other and so on
There is a dozen of problems with how trading is implemented in the game like price fixers, scammers [listing for a price but asking for more in-game] and etc, but GGG wants to cater to the 5% of the player base who likes to chit chat before trading itens |

" The feeling is mutual. I like PoE2's mechanics. But the fanbase reminds me of being an [Removed by Support] that derives their entire self worth off video games. GGG clearly goes after that slice of the pie and while it was funny back then...most of us are in our 30+ now. Many haves kids, families, responsibilities etc. etc. No life mechanics such as requiring being online to trade, instead of fire and forget, is just wtf. It SCREAMS the above. And the player base not understanding is the same. I'll take my leave now; I don't like interacting with this ick either. |

" Hot Take: Your an your buddies RL trading must really be going extremely well if you not just find the spare-time to play a time consuming ARPG as well as read posts and post in a forum about aformentioned game. Remember: Joining a tradegroup on Whatsapp and paying some rando who doesn't know what he's talking about, doesn't make you a trader. Traders have no time for such shenanigans as gaming nor do they care for it. And trading for fun on your phone also doesn't make you a trader. |

An in game browser could allow in game trades. However, I know you are wanting currency exchange, but for items.
The whole reason for the currency exchange is to monitor how hard it is on the servers. Obviously its risk is worth its reward. Maybe items can be done, but it would be very taxing on databases that are important. If items weren't so important, maybe it wouldn't be that big of an issue. However, currency means far less to the games health than items. And who knows how bad it could get when players are more incentivized to abuse an in game trade system. |

" Well name reasons why AH is bad. Cause i dont see it. An AH would mostly have way more advantages than disadvantages. - It would get rid of Price Fixers - Trades are way faster - You wouldnt need external programs to price check items it can be baked into the game itself if the devs want that - checking prices manually is faster then - Buying items that are low value is possible. With the current trade system many low level items cantr be bought cause nobody leaves a map for a couple ex - less frustration, people actually have to sell an item where they put in initally. No more throw it in for an ex get spammed change the price until u dont get spammed anymore. (those people have a really special place in hell) - buying items i bulk is easier in an ah Last edited by Gang5ter15#1071 on Feb 1, 2025, 11:54:22 AM

" AI Bots dominate the market anyway. Yes you could buy out everything and sell it for higher, but you can do that now too it just takes longer. Last edited by Gang5ter15#1071 on Feb 1, 2025, 11:55:38 AM

To me it seems pretty binary. If GGG wants trading to be the way, then it needs to be the way, with an AH to simplify it and avoid a bunch of issues current trading has. If GGG doesn't want trading to be the way, then they need to fix their loot drops, because right now, they're garbage.
Either way, how things currently are is not ideal for either situation, nor is it a fine middle ground. |

" now the trading interface is not convenient or simple, but still there are a lot of trading bots in POE2, although it's not as rampant as in POE... and if an AH is build in the game, it will be much easier to eliminate the trading bots rather than using a webpage. |

also want a build-in AH, really tired of trying to buy some cheap leveling items, PMed dozens of ppl but get 0 answer...or ppl pm me to buy something when i can't leave my map. And a real AH is great to sell items that seem to be good but i don't know their actual value. an AH like early days of D3 could be really nice.
