GGG was 100% right to stop pouring money into it POE 1 and focussing on POE 2

[Removed by Support] The peeps who play these games are old af. They say things like bro and cool and white like that. "Kids got rekt" example A r8ght there. Only old asses say rekt.

There is no reason for shutting down PoE 1 though, as long as it has large enough playerbase. It's not like most of them will enjoy PoE 2.
This bait would land better if poe2 wasnt crashing and burning as well. 100k during peak hours and yall know damn well majority of that is bots

Marval Rivals 400k strong btw

And poe1's numbers? The right game died here. Now write me up some cope theory about how a new league would have totally saved poe1, even though people only played settlers because of all the poe2 hype buzzing around at the time.
Fantastic thread...so much insight.

No we don't. Doing something in good faith doesn't absolve responsibility; they still took the money on a premise and failed to deliver on that premise. Being mad is often the ONLY way to change things, and letting go is guaranteed to change nothing.

Every part of your post is wrong.

How did they took money and what premise you are talking about?

I don't see any promise or disclaimer next to the recent supporter packs saying POE 1 3.26 league guarantee in Q1 2025.

GGG are not your friends. They are developers doing their best work at making good games and making revenue. I am sure all of you cry babies broke promises dozens of times, promises in work (deadlines), to your friends or family. GGG apologized, grow up.

Again; your posts are literal nonsense.

They took the money while at the time advertising a given set of outcomes, and drastically changed those outcomes multiple times. I'm not saying I'm going to take them to court or sue them or something; I'm saying that their word is now worth precisely zero and money given to the company on the basis of what they say they will do in the future should now be zero.

I don't expect GGG to be my friends; I expect them to continue trading in the good faith manner they have generally done so in the past. They have utterly failed to do so, and thus traded the small amount of money I have given them on that timespan for the entirety of the good faith they had garnered in the prior decade.

Anyone who now gives GGG money on the expectation that a given claim will be fulfilled from this point forth is a fool. This is true whether you like the game or the company or not.

Spoken like a liar who doesn't understand why no one trusts him.

In the real world people don't trust liars even if they apologize because they will just do it again and the more people forgive them the more incentive it is for them to keep lying. It doesn't matter what they lie about, in this case they lied to get money but you can focus on the fact that it's for a video game if it helps you cope.

Also worth noting - a massive part of POE 2 players are people who never even played POE 1. They are also the future of GGG and a reasonable company that wants to expand should look into the future, not into the past to please a few people who got stuck in there.

Pretty much.

With the internet era of competitive gaming dried out for a number of years now since the "golden era" of say 2008-2018 for many veterans (LoL, CoD, Rocket League and the MMORPG market etc) I'd say a massive portion are looking toward some quality solo with a hint of competitiveness from something like PoE2 and what I mean by quality is actual mechanics, as apposed to the week I tried of PoE1 and its just basically follow a guide and prioritize 1/2 skills which you use against very bland enemy mechanics.

I've sank 550 hours in PoE2 and its largely an engaging experience and for those who don't think its rewarding enough for their time well all I can say is you've never played anything really tough in your life, try Ultima Online!
