A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

I have a friend that said this was going to happen, I was like no they going to bring out a POE1 league while fixing for a big POE2 league, but nah the joke was on me.

This is the worst news I have heard as a POE player in 4 years.
I have 600 hours in POE2 the game is ok but lacks anything that keeps me wanting to play in the end.

Was hoping a new POE1 league just to let loose again but nope thats been ripped too.

Thanks for the feedback hope you know what you doing
I recommend everyone check their local laws regarding false advertising :3
Holy angry neck beards in this forum.

I don't even know why they released POE2. It's just a worse POE1. They should have just put all their effort into making new content for the original game. I'm just disappointed about the whole situation. GGG really fu<ked up a good thing they had going.

The framework for PoE2 is vastly superior to PoE in my opinion, but that's what it is though, differences in opinions. I much prefer the more engaging combat, WASD movement, dodge rolls, the overall more modern gameplay which is much needed in the ARPG genre, but I get it if that's not your kind of thing. PoE2 clearly resonated a lot with a whole lot of players however, the concurrent player numbers from Steam alone said plenty, and that's not counting console, the standalone client, Epic, and other platforms. I don't know if that kind of player count could be achieved by simply updating PoE. There's even a lot of PoE players that moved over to PoE2 and don't really feel like going back, even with the current PoE2 problems, so there's obviously something there.

PoE's next league patch will happen. You just got to wait a bit longer than expected. PoE2 players are waiting for updates as well and you can even see that more and more players are going elsewhere and the concurrent numbers which were very stable for a pretty long time are dropping, partially because there has been basically complete radio silence from GGG and there's also been very little updates to the game for the past two months since it came out. I think it's understandable that they wanted to focus on fixing some bigger issues with PoE2 first. And I think it's understandable that they didn't expect things to take as long as they have or that they didn't expect this to affect their plans for updating PoE. I think the video was reasonable in explaining that things didn't go as planned and I think he sincerely is bothered by the fact that he can't deliver on a release window that would satisfy the players who still wants to play the original. Cut them some slack. They are probably doing their best. At least there's no radio silence anymore. I find radio silence far more frustrating than to be told things are going to take more time than expected.

The amount of babyrage comments in this thread, by grown adults (most of us are probably 30+ years old), is kinda embarrassing. It's a delay. Critique is of course valid, frustrations can be shared, I do that too with frustrations I have with PoE2 lately in example, but to say they are rug pulling, that they are liars, that they are abandoning the original game, that they this and that, is ridiculous.

Sad, guess it’s time to move on. Don’t think it will get better.
Once Poe2 is ready to go, PoE team will be needed for cosmetic design or something.

This is understandable, GGG. You do great work, just keep going on.

(And haters: just go back to diablo 4)

i wont go to diablo 4 ... i stopped diablo after 3

we are allowed to be critical especially after spending so much mmoney supporting poe 1

poe 1 should still be supported. im not running away but our opinions do matter.

and i like long leagues ... my biggest gripe in poe is that standard doesnt get enuff love ... its like 4 leagues before they get a bone.

So,You delayed it many times, and in the end, instead of focusing all your efforts on POE1 to release 3.26 and using that time to work on POE2 afterward—since POE1 is already a complete game with no major bugs—you chose to prioritize new players over the loyal ones who supported this dying project. I wish I had known this would happen. At least then, I wouldn't have supported this abomination of a game
You have been crowd sourced hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars from the PoE 1 playerbase to support your company's endeavors.

You not only didn't deliver on your promises, but mislead and rugpulled the community.

You need to do better.

After 9+ months of 3.25, POE 3.26 better be the best league we've ever seen in the history of POE. None of this mediocre "oh you run here, kills this, collect this, go to vendors, buy this, build your town" crap.

There better be ubers. There better be massive endgame additions. The league better have the most cracked mechanic we've ever seen. 3.26 needs to be better than anything POE2 could offer us or, quite frankly, POE1 will be dead in the water and your community will lose all faith in your ability to manage the task of creating meaningful content for both games consistently. You're already halfway there.

Listen, my friend, I want to help you out. It is over.

shock and denial, anger, bargaining [[[You are here]]], depression, the upward turn, reconstruction and working through, and acceptance and hope

I didn't quite like PoE2 and was hoping for 3.26 to launch at some point in frebruary that's disappointing to say the least
