A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

I am really not buying any of it.You can bring back any old league mechanic and it will satisfy us.You just dont wanna do it because you want to promote POE2, and force players to play POE2.and im heartbroken you guys trying to promote POE2 despite a lot of players wanting POE1.

I am one of those who purchased the EA of poe2 but played it very little, i jsut cant get into the playstyle, i never liked dark soul or elden ring, im playing arpg for like 25 years and love the ones who focus on medium to fast playstyle, just like poe1. I will sure play the next poe1 league, but sad i missed the whole phox private league, i always loved his RF builds and would enjoy to play in his, but now it doesnt matter i just wait.

It's like watching GGG slowly morph into Blizzard. No timeline, no idea, misleading messages over the past few months that we find out afterwards were misleading.

I hope I eat these words in 6 months, but since speculation is fun, what do we think? 0.2.0 in April, tons of issues, angry players (when they nerf all the insanity going on), leads to a reaction to try and keep them, further delays for both POE 1 and POE 2.

The fundamental thing that I think we're seeing here is that POE2 is YEARS off of POE1 in terms of FUN at endgame, and so many parts of it are unfinished, that I don't think we'll see a recovery this year. Map layouts are terrible, the atlas lacks any sort of "completion" feeling whatsoever- infinite and endless is just a way to say we only had 15 maps and needed a way to repeat them without it feeling like we just repeated them, so let's force in this atlas that's impossible to navigate and forces you to play layouts you don't enjoy 80% of the time.

That's my case for this guess:
Next POE1 league that isn't a legacy league, 2026.

Reset the league or something, give us something atleast.
Horrible way to handle the state of poe1, I'm not mad, just very very disappointed.

That was extremely disappointing, especially with the promise that PoE 2 development is not gonna impact PoE 1.

But what really bothers me is that not even any kind of alternative was planned. Lots of old leagues that could have been rerun like Affliction or Trials of the Ancestors or any other event league.

PoE 2 is out, there is no hard deadline to meet anymore so I would like to know why not even a low effort alternatives was considered or even addressed in this message. Also, any kind of content would hold over people towards the next PoE 2 update much better.

All in all, I am just very disappointed with the decision to abandon PoE 1 completely for nowin favor of developing PoE 2 faster.

GGG you've changed so much. I've been playing this amazing game since 2015. I've never experienced something like this in this game developed by a company I've known to be truly caring. Maybe things are different now.

You have made tons of money with POE 2.
You can't tell us you don't have resources to support POE 1.
Hire as much people as needed to get things done. That's what you need to run 2 games in paralel. Resources. And we gave you that.
Most of your money are made with the support from POE 1 veterans.

DO NOT turn into a Blizzard mode company.
We are not dumb and you know it. Everything you have built, was built by listening the community.

POE 2 is thousands of kilometers away from POE 1 from many perspectives.
One of them us the lack of end game content.

You've made the same mistake that Blizzard did with D4. Brilliant design in the early stages and everything went down the drain like it was rushed by a team of people making their first game.

Copying the endless towers idea from last epoch eas the most disappointing aspect. I hope you were in such a bad spot that you had to approve it and it wasn't design as fitful content from the early stages.

Anyway, you are now at a cornerstone. The decisions that you'll take now, will lead to further success or the downfall of a great legacy.

Oh yeah, I hope they forget about poe1 and put all their efforts into poe2

I'll be honest GGG, I bought the big $480 supporter pack in December because of PoE1, not 2. I tried PoE2, and I just didn't like it.. too many borrowed mechanics from Ruthless mode which I do not enjoy. If I knew PoE1 would be abandoned, I would not have spent that money. Please just do the bare minimum and give us a new league with recycled content.
