Not really, theres no coming back from decisions they made, regardless who made them shareholders or management. Path of Exile og supporters helped funding developement and growing of the title during years, while bigger audience of the secondary project are now funding maintenance of bigger networking infrastructure and developement of both projects.

Failure of any of two projects, only can hurt both simultaneously, theres no potential winning in that scenario.

GGG need start to listen to community which are already coming with nice ideas, example of that is relaunching old leagues while cant deliver 3.26 as brand new content. This would be acceptable solution as there been few great leagues in past, even with some imbalance attached due to past changes to core, would not whine about it.

A message like this means a lack of commitment to things you promised but the priorities are not on POE 1.
Can't you do an event? We cannot combine 2-3 old leagues or old events. The poe 1 community wants to enjoy the game. Thank you!

I really would appreciate this. Could be a good way to give PoE1 players something they can work themselfs off on. They could just bring back the last event but with some other things they had in the pipeline. Just bring some minor fixes two or three people can implement and restart the league with it.

Best play from GGG would have been to announce that there could be possible delays in PoE1 when they started focusing on PoE2. Just being honest would have helped them a lot.

BUT and this is a big BUT - they apologized now because they were confident that they could deliver and I personally think you can give them a lot of shit but not about being experimental and overall confident now needing to adjust to totally new setting of development cycle aswell as a shit ton of problems they did not expect (which was their fault ofc).

You really need to appreciate the work they did when it comes to player feedback and community work and I think just now being so mad because there was no PoE1 League this Winter and probably Spring seems a bit too harsh. Being a supporter means you give them money for the great work they did in the past and not feeling like you own the company.

I believe they do their best and did huge miscalculations. But I believe it was an honest mistake on their side which they apologized for and that settles it (pun not intended).

Yes, I agree. With minimum effort they could've delivered a filler league to PoE1, make private leagues free, at the very least reset Kalguur again, but I see two reasons why this didn't and won't happen:

1) They neutered PoE1 ON PURPOSE - they are scared players will temporarily migrate from PoE 2 and numbers will decrease - they wouldn't be able to show off with these artificial numbers (by artificial I mean dozens of thousands of players played PoE 2 only out of curiosity and because they were waiting for PoE1 anyways).

2) They've been also actively lying since last July (Jonathan confirmed that since back then GGG already knew PoE1 league won't happen). They did it because otherwise poeple wouldn't support PoE2 in EA that eagerly and would stop buying MTX in the period from july up until recently.

That makes me to strongly believe it's not simply a matter of overestimation and lack of development time. It's precisely planned, insidious behaviour. That's what kills my faith. Mistakes could've been forgiven, such calculated lies cannot.

Cancel PoE 2? A game that’s more successful and popular than PoE 1 ever was?

I’m curious... Many players here claim to have been playing PoE 1 since 2013, but after reading some of these comments, it feels like half of you are 13 years old. Strange.

If anything, the game that’s likely to be canceled or stop receiving regular updates is PoE 1. Maybe not immediately, but it’s inevitable in the long run.

I understand that many of you love PoE 1 deeply. But let’s try to be reasonable here. Missed deadlines, mismanagement—these things happen. We’ve all faced challenges, broken promises, in our work or personal lives at some point. Let’s cut GGG some slack. I’m sure they’re just as unhappy about the situation as we are.

So sad.
