A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

Johnathan has been a massive net-negative to this franchise. Mark for solo game director!

Imagine withelding key info to sell more EA supporter packs, to people who were willing to try PoE 2 to bridge the gap to 3.26 and then at the time for announcement of next league tell your core playerbase "Sorry we ain't ready for another 4-6 months and we knew it since at least end of November."
Also Izaro quote at the end is not cute or funny GGG, that is an insult to injury so here is another one:

"The essence of an empire must be shared equally amongst all of its citizens."

Except no Empire has ever been built because of Citizens.

But was overturned by Citizens :))

I just read a comment on how GGG is a standard. What f'n standard? They are turning to Blizzard.

After years and years of playing, spending money on mtx, stashes, supported packs (to invest in something we love) we got slap in the face because, let's be honest, they don't give a rat's ass for poe1 community.

And this todays apology doesn't mean anything. Trying to extinguish a fire with oil. Literally admitting that they've been lying this whole time and 3.26 wouldn't have been launched at all.

Sincerely, Jonathan should just step down and go coding instead of trying to fit shoes too big for him. Give us our favorite baldy back!

Honestly, wish the poe2 development go down in flames as they didn't deserve nothing more. They don't deserve community they have - community they build over a decade. That community just got a slap in the face. I wonder how many of us will stay to see GGG advancement. I know who won't.

Most rational PoE player
i spend money for support my favorite game
GGG said my favorite game no longer supported

Poe 2 is a bad game.
what the fuck are you guys doing. Doing this to the original games to the people that paid for it all for a game that is in early access???? goddamn atleast do a well received league reset or someting this is a JOKE
You forgot what playerbase paid for poe 2???? not even a simple reset, nothing>??
It's obvious that most answers here come from PoE1 supporters who want nothing to do with PoE2 (or who tried it, and didn't like it). The backlash was kind of expected, and this thread is mostly negative due to it being bad news to these PoE1 supporter/players.

I honestly don't play PoE1 anymore, and probably never will again. It's PoE2, and other games, for me from now on and it's perfectly fine to have a preference. It's clear that higher up (Tencent?), they think that PoE2 is more important than PoE1 due to the potential of having an afflux of new players and, hopefully, more money down the road, and maybe sooner too. Just like when any gaming company decides to push out a new title instead of adding on an older, more polished, one. It's always money.

As a PoE2 player (or at least, I will be as I'm taking a break as I'm bored with the current lack of build variety and lack of balance and poor endgame), I don't want to be spoon-fed content : I want a few new classes to even consider coming back to PoE2 EA, and I think that a lot of players are just like me. That's probably what GGG has intended, to release all content sooner than later, to strike when the iron is hot. It's a good business decision, and it would be if it wasn't bringing down PoE1 with it.

Thing is, PoE2 EA could have been delayed initially and considering the state of the game, December EA was too early. This was probably Tencent's decision more than anything to push for the EA before Christmas.

PoE1 players already waited a very long time, and up until PoE2 EA and some weeks after, were quite patient. I totally understand why a lot of them are angry as even if it wasn't a full blown new expension, I would want new content and a fresh start way more often than once a year. If a given video game was my main source of entertainment, I certainly would want new content from it, especially if I pay on a semi-monthly basis.

It's obvious they knew even before the PoE2 EA that Dec 6 was cutting it too short, and that they were short on staff, but they kept going thinking that most PoE1 players would switch to PoE2 as soon as it was available. That probably was their hope.

Very sad to see GGG do that with their long time Game.
I dont like Poe2 at all currently, was hoping for a new league in POE1 soon. But got disappointed.
My support for ggg is done with that decision.
POE 2 is an early release game. It is stupid that they created one of their best leagues yet and then drop the ball. This is incredibly disappointing after the promises made.
