One Death Maps is a monumental failure.

No, I just told you before what my characters are and how they function.
They feel good to play. Getting 1 hit killed by overtuned abilities and the overlty punishing map loss penalties does not feel good.
That's my feedback. I'm glad you've had a different experience.
While trying to build my monk up, the bridge from 80% evasion to 90%+ was horrendous for instance and I think that all of this is just not conducive to having One Death Maps in the Endgame - in it's current implementation.

Yes, the devs were clear. They don't like deleting all the bonuses on the tile on death, but haven't figured out how to remove that functionally without opening exploits.

That's not a static stance, that's a "we want to adjust it but we just haven't figured out how" stance.

Telling people to stop playing in response to suggested ideas on what the devs could do with a problem they are thinking about is disingenuous.

Atlas nodes will be actually good if they increase xp penalty on death per each extra attempt gained.

The game currently closes all portals when you die. The devs have stated very clearly that this is not changing.

That has nothing to do with the node being cleared of bonus content on your failure. The devs did say that they'd like to leave that bonus content, but it would be too easy to abuse so they are clearing it.

See how those are two different things. The bad idea in this thread is about giving more portals, the thing the devs very clearly stated is here to stay.

My biggest issue with death is the node being bricked. Take my waystone for a single death, fine. Want 10% of my exp? Take it. But removing all the modifiers and content on the node just feels like kicking me while I'm down. Especially when I need to clear the node to get to the next one. Now I'm stuck running a map with no content after having just died so the entire map I'm just thinking about the terrible death mechanics with no content to even distract you from it.

And if you thought that feels bad, try map clearing to Citadels and failing on some horrible 1 shot death mechanic to lose that citadel and have to clear to another knowing you have 1 chance or too bad so sad.

When the endgame is this unforgiving its just not fun, at all.

Well this is a lie, they actually said that they didn't want to give it up just yet but if people keep demanding it, they will cave. Literally watch the last livestream they did where they say exactly this.
