the problem is because ES is too overpowered or effective, the mobs are based on this instead of the weakest part that is a ranger life, there is no passive to increase life, no passive to make ranger get more life, so why do I need to go ES a mage build? they should be balanced for me and if ES is so overpowered nerf it.

the game is broken and because it is broken to catter to specific builds instead of fixing it they are balancing around them and the other builds just doesn't work unless they go ES, or use wands like I see a deadeye use wands... so the problem isn't the bosses is just that they are balanced in that specific build not for the whole build.

imagine playing a game with 6 classes and only one work, and for the other five to work need to use the defense mechanics of the class that works? this is dumb and there is no defense.


Builds which use armour and life mostly rely also on high life regeneration, block chance and additional damage reduction. ES builds often rely on damage conversion as another layer of defense. There are many mechanics which are not obvious but can add alot of survivability to your build.

you're not seeing the problem, warrior have it on their mace, on their ascendence, close on their passive skill, Es have it too close to them etc.

Again make a Ranger evasion build work, you can't, but you can make an ES build work?

again there shouldn't be any damage even in tier 17 map over 3k, unless they are from bosses and the boss need to charge for a 1-2 seconds this attack, I don't need to spend 150 divines to get 3k life to survive on the endgame, spending this much money should be to increase my chance of survival even more, if I have the pinnacle gear and I can still get one shot by normal mobs something is terrible wrong, I don't need a build 100% immuni to fire trade damage to fire etc, or a build with regen or 90% block, these build should work like an acrobatic evasion ranger with 90% evasion should work, unless he is hit by a giant attack and bypass his evasion(with acrobatics) he shouldn't get one shot with 75% and 3k life, because even 3k life is too much in a ranger, you really need to spends divines on gear with full life to get this much life, normally you would be sitting in 2k life.

Lmao, it's clearly not a minority of people that are feeling this way, in fact the minority is clearly in the camp that says that One Death Maps with the current iteration of mapping is fine. It's not. Everyone I've spoken to hates it. Every. Single. Person. Funnily enough, the only people that never seem to hate it are the ones that come into threads like this to defend it and talk down at those who are raising valid complaints. Honestly, I find it suspicious, but at the least, you're shouting into a void when you tell me this because I will just not be replying to a single other person that tries to tell me that this isn't a problem, when I could go to twitter, youtube, the steam reviews or facebook or instagram and peruse the comment reply section for anything PoE2 related and immediately find yet another person or group of persons complaining about the One Death Map bullshit.

It's laughable that you would deny that reality.


Bless you for continuing this conversation. There's a group of people who generally like there to be punishments so they can say they're better than other people for various reasons.

I don't play PoE2 to play or even talk to those people. I literally just want to enjoy a game and they make sure to make it as unfun as possible in endgame consistently to even killing the endgame bosses. Still unfun, it's all severely unfun in the service of the ultra nerds and economy which I do not care about either of these.

If we had a private league/ instance to just play with our own modifiers like MF increase, currency, spawn items, etc. I'd prefer to just play that tbh. I like building characters and playing killing and finding stuff. The endgame currently makes sure killing stuff is meaningless due to terrible loot drops with drops themselves being trash everytime. Last 300 hours of playing and not one upgrade. Terrible. Takes a certain type of character to say this is fun.

Keep up the logic. Don't back down from the teeth of pups.

Honestly couldn't agree more. ive grinded up to lvl 91 and i have a really strong flicker build that clears map and i have a solid defense but getting literally one shot to a stupid mechanic shouldn't waste all the time i spent leveling and searching for the citadel's. they acknowledge the pinnacle boss was too tough. Are they even listening to us? I dont know.

And, if you think people complaining about the death penalty in PoE2 EA is bad, you should have seen the D4 forums when the 1.1 patch dropped. All they did was increase the amount of XP required to level, but there was sooooooo muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate. Literally, 9 out of 10 posts were players bitching, whining, complaining, crying, whinging, etc. about the change.

Within a week, the devs reverted the changes, and there was much rejoicing.

Personally, the XP changes did not affect me, so I had no opinion; I understood what the devs were trying to do, but it seems, especially in hindsight, that they severely misjudged the community's reaction to the changes. Players definitely seem happier with the 1.1 XP changes being reverted.

So, never say bitching about the same thing over and over and over and over and over again never got players anywhere. I know it can be really annoying to see the same post over and over and over and over again, especially when the issue does not affect you or you disagree with it, but it ultimately does have value. 😉

Then you'll definitely want the devs to do something about how severe the death penalty in maps is right now, because if it goes live as-is, the game WILL turn into uber-OP-meta builds being the only way to play the game.

If one death is going to stay.. At least tell us how we died!! Combat Death Log would be great!
+1 I hate 1 death maps. Make it a Ruthless thing, not a standard league thing.
