The Death Penalty and XP Gains in PoE 2 my feedback after 400+hrs

"
They've stood firm on their stance on this for over 10 years, do you think making another post about it is gonna change anything?

Not that I agree/disagree, there's just no point complaining about it. It's like asking FromSoft to put a difficulty slider in their games.

The fact that more have caught attention to this issue, means that more people have been able to reach maps this time around.

And because something is old, never makes it good. It just makes it old.
I completely agree on all points, I spent 2 days grinding tier 15 juiced maps to get halfway to 93 maybe one death in 2 days. 3rd day I put it on and even though I found 3 divines the unseeable one shots and after death explosions have me near uninstalling, a game shouldn’t make you feel like that, finding 3 divines is a good day but because of 4 deaths in a row to stuff I can’t even see on replay has got me logging off with all of my xp gone 3 divines is not worth losing 2 days of XP if they don’t fix this I won’t be returning.
Yeah basically the death penalty would be tolerable, if the rest of the endgame wasn't so slow and tedious.

Leveling 90+ really sucks for anyone that isn't a massive diehard PoE no-lifer. It just does. Then dying and losing somewhere between 1-3 hours of solid grinding -- more often than not to insta-rippy nonsense mechanics -- makes that intolerable.

its this type of mentality that prevents things from changing, if enough people have an issue with this(and clearly a huge amount of people do) then something will likely be done.

also poe2 is not poe1, just cause something didn't get changed in poe1 doesn't all of a sudden mean it cant be changed here. lets all ask for positive changes to the game, and the state of late game progression is something that desperately needs changes.
Most of my deaths have been to bullshit mechanics - things you cant see or things that kill you from off screen, or horrible luck with extremely bad affix combinations that are broken/unbalanced that make my build useless.

The XP penalty for dying "might" be tolerable after GGG fixes all the "bullshit mechanics" (their own words from the livestream). Given how many there are, some may never be fixed.

I like the death penalty because it puts you where you belong and gives you a secondary goal to achieve.

Those with knowledge or a good build can reach level 100, while others need to learn or just stay at level 90. It was never a problem in PoE1, so I'm not sure why suddenly everyone thinks the goal is absolutely to reach level 100. You can stay at level 90, and that's fine.
A feedback forum where the same two - three pieces of feedback gets reposted tens of thousands of times. Nice work guys. Keep it up.

The thing is not all players want them.

Players will want growth and to maximize their characters. That's literally the point of playing a game and if they can't do that they will naturally quit and give up.

The real question is, does GGG want their players to quit their game because of a mechanic they force players into or at least make them quit since they've accomplished a max character and will look forward to a next league?

They say they want to modernize their approach for PoE 2 and they slowly are with the skill system and other mechanics, it's much easier to understand compare to PoE 1. As for the death penalty, it seems like they're still stuck in their ideas.

Then they can play something else. Devs designed it and have made it clear that its staying in the game

Which is good
Mash the clean
The statement "Originally, Blizzard didn’t intend for leveling to be so slow" is not true at all, it was always slow, the only exceptions was the cow level pre nerf because it was not intended to be farmed and in D2R with the intruction of high level zones, that it. Diablo 1 leveling was very slow as well.
