Is GGG struggling??

Chris Wilson has a degree in Economics. GGG's MTX price structure has kept the company profitable for over a decade. The prices may seem high, individually, but they work. ='[.]'=

I never had a issue with micros as long as they dont affect gameplay. I suppose you should look at it in a different direction. Paying 40 dollars for a skin suit, absurd, but paying it for a game you love, worth it. Not everyone is strapped for cash, but you and anyone who loves the game will want it and will pay it if you could, cause you support it and like it. Its not about price, its about support. Ggg doesnt need the money like that, the price is more of a devotion. How much are you willing to pay to show your devoted to this game to show "others". You dont buy the micro to impress GGG, you buy it to impress players. There is cheaper options, but you wont like or settle for those looks. If you truly love the game. In the end mate, its all on how you wanna spend cash. Some pay 20 dollars for a mcdonalds meal, some buy a micro transaction for poe. Some spend that 20 on gas. Money is meant to be spent, if youre worried, save it.

10 years of excellent FREE game gets you the RIGHT to offer MTX to your fans without them feeling ...blizzarded :D
GGG are the good exception in the business, also most players who buy this do it to offer their support - not for the actual sprites (; What was not expected was the 1-2M.... people on the release of the beta (so one can argue their prices were calculated towards a smaller fan base to support devs salaries) Last edited by xlnt2new#4132 on Jan 6, 2025, 6:50:44 AM

A thought occurred to me based on what someone said earlier about the amount of effort required in adjusting to rigging on models for MTX. I remembered GGG said POE2 was going to be less problematic in that regard as they've designed the characters from the ground up to allow stuff to be reused easily with little effort. That all sounds great, then I also remembered that all MTX are shared between POE1 and POE2, meaning any MTX made for POE2 (with the easy rigging) still also have to be made for POE1 (with the horrible rigging) meaning the advantage of the new rigging is actually worthless for POE1 and so any new MTX will still require a lot of effort to produce. Have/will they port the new character models to POE1?

Those cosmetics prices are good for whales, not for regular people.
PoE2 = Patch of Slog

Theyve always been waaaaay over priced.

I used to say this pretty much verbatim about Undecember, which I frequently heard was heavily inspired by PoE. When I finally started playing this game, I realized just how true that is.

Cosmetics have always been priced this way.
Created CurrencyCop and PoeBuddy.
