customize gender and appearance

Not being able to customize gender and appearance is a very backward and unsubstantiated thing. For someone who wants to play a game role, like me, I want to be a wizard with my ideal shape in the game, but can I do it? The answer is no, which makes me very lost.
In other ways? Win any other game of its kind, but on behalf of a group like me, I sincerely implore you to include custom gender and appearance features in the game.

I really would love that as well, would be a really modern game decision.
I would be more personaly bound to that character.

I was hoping that would be one of the reveals today female and male hunters, I don't play a lot of classes as they are masculine

Not really an issue for me. They have so many other issues to deal with that affects actual gameplay. With how far zoomed out and how much clutter is on screen I don’t even notice what my character is. Maybe they could add an MTX for different skins.

I think they should at least offer a different gender choice, i don't mind it being locked behind a mtx

first of all I want to thank you for the experience delivered in Path of
Exile II, which I recently acquired. I would just like to request that
in the character selection, there be an option to choose the gender of
the character from the classes we have available, as in Diablo IV, the
game I abandoned to play Path of Exile II.

Maybe as a halfway solution they could just let you pick any of the existing character models (and voices) and let them be whatever class. Possibly throw on some basic skin tone selector and call it a day.

To me there's like 100 other things I'd rather they focus on but maybe this would be a fast solution for people who care about this, idk.

I don't think this is feasable. Why? Because there are set story references all over the place that would need changing, re-recording lines and so forth. Re-recording lines is expensive, it does not get always done, even in case of mistranslations.

Then there is the ascencion art, they would need a second set for each ascendancy class... again, money better spent elsewhere.

To be honest, I also don't see the big issue. It's a story character, not myself, so well, this one is male the other is female, so what?

OK but others have expressed that they would like it, why would just you not caring invalidate that?
