Integrate trading in-game

They just need to do a small change. Add an ingame inventory for trade, with x slots.

And then, instead of "whisper player" you click on "buy item" and it will be transferred to your trade stash. Bam, simple but huge change.

i think youre on the wrong horse here. the longer the game runs, the cheaper good items are getting. i dont talk about high end, but good items.
and if you make it cost currency to list items, people would 100% stop listing cheap things instead of listing more of them. why would i list items for 1 exalt if i had to pay extra fee for listing it?

You're describing how item price drops based on a LEAGUE. Leagues last 3 months.

This isn't a league, this is standard. Item prices only drop when demand does and it's not likely to for months.

Which is why things that were 1 EX are now 2-5 Div which equates to roughly 200-500 EX. That's an insane price increase over 3 weeks, wouldn't you say?

And making people pay to list items keeps them from pulling them and relisting them for a higher price over and over.

dont get me wrong, nobody cares about standard economy and the game will never be balanced around it.
btw, pulling items and relisting them for higher prices is done by beginners in the first place. you would punish unexperienced players.

I agree and that was one of my suggestions. Sadly I don't think your tab would be available if you're offline though which is why I suggested somewhere you could deposit the item or have it "locked" while it's on the trade interface listings.

Honestly I can't believe the level of incompetence and/or contempt for the player base shown by GGG in POE2 development.

POE2 was an opportunity for GGG to acknowledge reality and add in MANDATORY FEATURES for an ARPG in 2024. One of these features is a fully functioning in-game auction house, which players almost unanimously want. And I'm sorry, but [Removed by Support] who enjoy the misery of others should not be enough to block the auction house. The Solo Self Found game option will be available for those players that don't like trading.

Other parts of POE2 are also a step backwards, like the RNG crafting system. Maybe they will add more crafting options later, but Early Access Beta are supposed to be fully functioning "feature complete" versions of the game. Having missing skill gems and missing crafting options during early access is not acceptable practice.

You are talking like it's some gold standard.

Good point. We have already seen this, all the way from Settlers. On top of all the other problems, this would kill dump tabs, making it even harder for new players, late league starters, and everyone who can't figure out trading to get cheap items to level quickly or start mapping with.

Yet again, without fail, the same trope: people complain about some aspect of trading, suggest a "solution" that makes it significantly worse.

It's not surprising to be honest. It's not obvious if you see at trade only from your perspective.

That's one of the reasons in my trade wish-list [which won't happen!] I opted to take out gold costs as that would [potentially] create an artificial layer that could suppress trade.

You do have a good point though -- my trade proposal was PoE1 centric with the assumption that everyone would just have a dump-tab or similar for trading.

No, only a vocal minority wants an in-game auction house. The rest of us in the forums it don't, we just don't bother following thread after thread reading the same nonsense complaints and genius "solutions" that don't even work for the imaginary problems they desperately want to solve. And then there is the vast majority of players, who just play the game happily without looking at any forums.

You are talking about the people who do want an auction house. Almost every thread about it is the same two things: 1. complaining about not knowing how to trade and blaming others for it, and 2. demanding changes that would ruin trading for everyone else too (but especially for new and inexperienced players).

Trading is optional for everyone, you don't have to trade to be able to play in trade leagues. Most people in trade leagues don't trade at all. SSF mode is there for the bragging rights and challenging yourself, and of course you can always move out of it. I don't see anyone who doesn't like trading say "I will play SSF until there is an AH" though.
