Exp loss on death topics are getting out of hand.

Surely there aren't a vast majority of players who are also complaining about all these problems. Surely.

It's also just "your opinion" that they're good for the game. It will be changed or the game will just die eventually.

Stop putting words on someone else's post. If you're not going to read and understand the entirety of my post then why bother replying here? FYI, The point of this post is about the absurdities that people are saying about -10% exp loss. I neither said I am in favor nor disagree with removing it. I can sympathize with people, wanting to play and login and turn off their brain and just farm. I am saying that there is a reason for the -10% exp loss on death.

Again and quoting, there is a big difference in being okay with it/explaining and understanding why is it in place.

By saying that there is a reason for it to be in the game, you are basically defending it. It's either you're for or against it. What's even the point of a post like this then? The reasons for any death penalty is to just screw the player over and inflate playtime, nothing more nothing less.

If you're so neutral about it then why care if people are asking for it to be removed then? It doesn't affect you right?

I used to die a lot whenever I was trying to play with armor and life. Even with max res those white mobs that summon meteors would one shot me.

I switched to energy shield and grim feast and now I almost never die.

And when I think I'm in a bad situation and I'm at risk of death I just hit pause and log out and back in to avoid death.

I run 6 mod t15/16 corrupted/double corrupted maps and I don't even look at the damage mods

And I'm not running a meta build. It's just a home brewed melee minions setup. I'm walking face first into mob packs to get my minions to spawn on me because they get stuck in hallways.

The problem with CI if you're not playing a minion build is physical defense mitigation. You have your minions shielding you and mobs targeting them instead of you, but if you don't play minions, you can easily die to stun lock even if you get those %es as stun threshold. Even at 10k pool, I can still easily die on delirious breach.

You are hopeless to be blunt. Stating something because you understand why its there is very different from defending it. If you check my post history, I almost never reply to any exp loss on death thread and that's why I said "usually" neutral. Do you even try to comprehend the context I am trying to get across?

I don't care what you say, none of these death penalties are defendable in any way. They're bad. Absolutely trash game design that should have died 20 years ago. Let's see how long GGG can triple-down on their "Vision" before the game dies.

They are bad in your opinion. Sadly, the world nor the game doesn't revolve around you. Please do not ever generalize an opinion without some concrete proof.

Well everything revolves around the majority which I'm sure is unfortunate for you. Plays dont want it then it should definitely be changed to suit us. Give the players what they want or they go elsewhere its incredibly simple and logical

Oh for sure I can understand that. I would assume you would need to kill the mobs before they surround you. But I can't speak about end game as somebody who doesn't have minions because I haven't played those builds.

Also not using CI just a hybrid hp/energy shield setup. The way infernalist ascendancy works keeps you from using CI viably. You need the hp for the reservations.

I'm hoping to get some kind of templar/druid minion build going with armour/ES/CI.

not everything player want is good for the game. xp loss is in fact good for the game, no matter if you like it or not. there is a reason for it and it has to stay.

Ok, but like if you don't care either way if its in the game or not then removing it shouldn't matter to you right? There are 0 good reasons for these archaic mechanics to exist in a game in the year 2024(almost 2025 lmao).

I don't know what you're even trying to do, but no amount of negotiating and long-winded explanations of why exp loss is good will convince the masses of players who hate it to suddenly be like "ah yes I now understand why hours my time is deleted in this game, I shall simply continue playing it". That's just not happening.

Because we've all seen what happens to these "game companies" that are always like "we know better than the player, we know what's best for you". I'm sure GGG's "Vision" is gonna be great for this game. Exp loss is toxic,anti-fun "we hate the player" game design. That's the only thing it is and ever will be.

Yes, its very easy to utter the words "majority", but providing proof of that majority is too hard no?

Let me fill in on a bit of information. Go to POE 2 reddit, do you see people complaining about exp loss? Go to Steam forums, do you see rage threads about exp loss? If you are going to utter the word "majority", at the very least, have some decency to back it up?

So now we import "we've all seen" none sense? Do you even try to make a constructive discussion here?

Removing exp on death will sway the curve to "all damage no defense" meta, but of course you haven't thought of that one right? You only care about you gong 100 no? "all damage no defense" meta will entail some additional problems and that is a separate discussion if you even need one.
