In principle if you went to Standard SSF you could eventually merge your SSF Atlas back to Standard (the league atlas with the most completed maps is preserved, the other deleted), although I'm not sure if SSF migrations are currently enabled at this time.
Is this an out of season April Fools joke?

If I remember correctly, we were supposed to brick atlas if we failed a map with the possibility to reset it at npc to scratch. Not planned anymore?

Heyo,
There might be a last resort option for you to look for. There are two spots with mountains which sometimes completely cover the nodes and paths. So if you try to hover all of the mountains there might be a connecting node that you just can't see.
not sure tho, just thinking out loud here

an atlas reset being available to players would prevent this being an issue
