FPS Struggle with RTX3080

I dont think I should have FPS slow downs, even with a summoner build.

Im playing in 1440p resolution. Are there settings I could be messing up?

For example, I get 40FPS standing in Act 3 town. and 99% GPU usage. With all settings to the lowest.

I always lower my graphics settings quite a bit in POE games. they are never well optimized.
yea........ thats true.

but this seems like it should be smoother

It performs up to expectations in other games

thank you for your reply

Check the in game graphs if there is high CPU latency.

There is a CPU bug( or maybe lack of optimization on certain processors).

POE2 is not using CPU at max level on certain processors which leads to frame drops.

Go to windows power plan and use the ultimate performance one. It needs to be switched on after the game is turned on( that's it in my case at least).
Steps:
1. Reset all in-game settings
2. Go to %APPDATA% open the POE2 folder delete the Vulkan or D12 shader cache folder.
3. Reset shaders cache in your graphics card
4. Update windows & graphics card to the latest
5. Restart

---

Don't mess with the graphics settings at all.

In my case, it comes with the graphics settings that it comes with (Most on high or ultra) and if I attempt to improve the performance by lowering settings my FPS will drop. Why? skill issues (on the devs).

---

Side note, increase your shader cache limit to unlimited if you are in nvidia. AMD doesn't have the option.

---

Disabling engine multi threading might tank your performance or might drastically improve it. Depends on your CPU give it a try.

I did all this and now I get around 45 FPS with GPU 99% utilization

Something odd is still occurring, image above shows in game statistics.

Is my 8700k possibly causing a bottleneck on the 3080gpu?

Odd part of this is I can max out GTA5 no problem, but PoE Struggles.

Funny part is if i take all the PoE2 settings from defaults back to the lowest settings i only gain 3-4 FPS.

I am so confused and frustrated :(

Benchmarking the card looks good. But cant run PoE on low settings with smooth fps! Im still troubleshooting

Reinstalling all Nvidia drivers and software.

I also just played GTA5 with Max Settings 1440p.

80-100 fps. 50-60% CPU Utilization. 75-95% GPU utilization. And the gameplay is very smooth no stutter or hitching.

people have suggested you lots of options, did you try any of them? you can check if CPU is bottle necking it with temporary OCing it or though c-states or both, if you want/need empirical evidence of it

I did try all of them

and the CPU isnt bottlenecking from the stress tests and graphics benchmarks as far as I can tell

I have a RX 7900GRE @1440p and got ~260FPS in Hideout, 120-180FPS in Maps and 90-100 FPS in Act3 Ziggurat Refuge. With all that Upscaling and Supersampling i only got less FPS, less performance and higher heat on the GPU and also louder fans

You can uncheck Dynamic Resolution and set Upscaler to Off. Disable Vsync and uncheck Cap Foreground FPS. The quality and detail settings are doing not so much.

The only Option that can lower your FPS massive is uncheck "Engine Multitreading".
Set a low foreground FPS, accidently choose DX11 or set a fixed low Vsync value.
