Greater and Perfect Jeweller's Orbs are TOO RARE

I've seen 2 in around 130 hours, so yeah, I agree.
There should probably be one greater as a quest reward in early maps. Maybe alongside the T5 map completion reward. In PoE1 you were basically guaranteed to drop a 5-link at some point, or failing that, to get the bench recipe and 150 fusings to force it.

I'm more or less fine with 6-links being a late endgame thing. But the inability to gradually work towards it (like collecting 1500 fusings for the bench craft) makes it too RNG-dependent imo. No progress until you get lucky and drop one feels bad.

I cannot say anything about perfect ones(cause I can accept that those should start dropping at higher levels), but I totally agree about greater ones.
1 lvl 65 character
1 lvl 70 character
friend leveled one to 74 or so far.

I found 1-1 greater orb, friend found not a single one.

Two 80+ characters, and some other (around 65...)

I do not know how those orbs look!!!

Got few divines thou, not complaining about lack of luck...
But I really have no idea how they look.
+1

I'm lvl 77 & I've never found a single one yet.
I think the problem is that greater can be found in cruel and many people rush through that easily.

Are you saying they can't be found after Cruel?
I've never seen them drop.
They're rare because the game is actually Ruthless 2.0
Same with alchemy orb. I had ONE alchemy drop in total, like what's even the point? So we're supposed to RNG craft, but the "right way" is to aug+transmute+regal, when a single alchemy does the same thing. Again, what's the point, apart from wasting our time?

When 1 million people play it means that most will get one to drop by mid to late game, and some people will play for 3,000 hours and never see a single one. This is MATHEMATICALLY GUARANTEED.

Any currency that rare that gets added to the game HAS to get added with some form of bad luck protection. ESPECIALLY for SSF players.

Or maybe, just maybe... it can be a either:

- 1, balancing needed. We're one week in, in an EA. Kind of standard.
- 2, designers trying to scream at your face "you don't need that".

Ranger here, as I did for PoE 1 and pretty much any ARPG, going blindly and not looking at any guide to understand the game myself (also, never been fond of using guide, I'm generally theorycrafting myself). And I've not been very stuck in story mode... I'd even say I kind of breezed through it except for two bosses where I had to try 7/8 times each due to my brain not wanting to understand a couple of patterns.

And in endgame, I'm already overperforming on maps at T6, with 4 links everywhere and only an excellent quiver on my gear and a somewhat okish low level bow.

And with that setup, I was already consuming a shit ton of mana with proper mana on kill and a bit of regen. Let's assume I could craft insane gloves and a very nice bow. I'm pretty sure I could carry to T15 without much effort still on 4Ls.

So maybe the 5 and 6Ls are just the bonus on top. But for now, contrary to PoE1 where the 6L was mandatory when reaching maps, I don't even feel like I should find soon a 5L or else I'd hit a wall going deeper in map tiers.

Maybe it will get hard on pinnacle bosses, I can't tell for now. But at T6, with my custom stupid salvo build, I don't feel limited by the two missing sockets.
