Arsonist nerf is massive.

Well for one, the dog can be used for utility which potentially outshines his damage.

While his damage scales well. Early on he's better as a debuffer.

There are gems that say you cannot ignite, but give more damage if the target is ignited. Therfore you can use the dog to apply ignite buffing your main minion.

There's no minion diversity right now because their AI is terrible.

The arsonists needed a nerf.
They are still vastly superior to the other mage minions. Like seriously before you complain about the arsonists.

Just switch to the ice mages or the lightning mages. And see what REAL disfunction is.

That being said, this change is not particularly effective if the other mages are .. still bad which they are.
No they are not. Reavers have just as much damage they are just melee and have bad AI. Cold skeletons mages are doing fine as well.

If they would have given us more time most people would have swapped off them....

The brute also has its uses for DD.

The other makes will see use. Theres alot of interesting interactions to test.

There's no reason to nerf a build so soon. You think arsonists are op? Well see what build comes out tomorrow.

I used the arsonist once when I first could use them and didn't like their spirit cost. I've since been fixated on a witch that's sold her soul to the devil and summon my cute Hellhound and 7 skeletons that are all on fire from 'Infernal Legion'. My roleplay is complete, but the damage feels...alright.

The damage increases off of minion max health, but I cannot tell if the ignite proc and, specifically, ignite magnitude is increasing. If it isn't my damage suffers. I have since made my demonic witch baddie into just another sorceress for more damage and elemental affinities. Now that they buffed curse (it was my first build attempt [blind, of course] and I carried that build for 10 for so levels before deciding curse was actually awful) I may need to respec again to really see what my witch can do. I'm not a fan of bandwagons or watching build videos. This quote on quote nerf to arsonist is just bringing them in line with the other elemental damage minions because they performed so well. It's a good balance.

If Arsonists were not over performing and there are so many other strong options, why do you keep whining about a minor damage nerf? Just use one of the other strong minions.

If the others are not as strong, then you confirm that Arsonists were an outlier and had to be brought back in line.

"The AI is bad" was already a BS argument in PoE 1. And now in PoE 2 the AI is even improved. No need to make minions aggressive anymore, they already are. The only thing is getting stuck in tight walkways. But that has nothing to do with AI but instead with hitboxes and body blocking ... which works in our favor since we can walk through our minions but enemies can't. So we always have a wall we can easily retreat behind.

A minor nerf is not losing 5 minions. 5 body blockers. Clarity.

Why are you wasting your time here if it's so minor?

Are you just really dumb? Improved ai is minions being hung up on a door? We had convocation in poe 1. This is poe 2. We expect the game to go forward not backwards.

Why the hell would I farm more perfect jeweler orbs? I already used 3 on the build. They said they would only fix "broken" stuff right away.

Many other builds not only clear faster, but also have much more st.

These devs deserve the D4 treatment. They delayed poe 2 and EA is this buggy?

So much is broken. Targeting offerings on gamepad doesn't work. Sanctum still can bug out at the end.

I'd probably be way less salty if there also weren't a massive amount of bugs.....

Label this a beta obviously nothing was tested.... we barely have a feel for the game but the devs are already imposing their will.....

Early Access is beta. As far as devs "imposing their will" of course, they are who are developing the game! Every video game is devs "imposing their will" by definition.
