The "other two" mages?
Arsonists aren't mages.
They are more in line with Snipers.
They attack with physical projectiles, which is why you take Accuracy with them.
This is why they have synergy with Flame Wall, just like Snipers:
the projectile gets converted to fire.

Do GGG not understand their own game?

I don't even mind the nerf, it was overdue, but it's just based on a wrong understanding of the game, which is what annoys me.

And I find it concerning that the devs seem to think they are.

They could cost 50 spirit each and minion builds would still run them. That's the current state of minion balancing right now.
Storm mages and ice mages can cast their skills without additional conditions. If the price of skeletons is equalized, then the additional condition on HP for casting should be removed, no?

pretty much, they could also remove their command skill and it wouldn't matter a single iota since its useless when you get res+hp on the tree for minions since even SRS wont go below the threshold.

I tried every skeleton, goofy shit like brute infernal legion, its all awful except arsonist. And I don't even think its because all the fire damage related stuff like exposure on dog etc., the other skeletons just suck major dick. Even SRS stops being good later on and I just throw maim and blind on them.
Blood mage doesn't really have any synergy's for minions. Infernalist has spirit for life reservation, and they have a free aoe-ignite-exposure fire damage minion. So naturally, players are gravitating towards the high damage, fire based, aoe ranged minion type.

I have no idea why they didn't just make necromancer and just give us some additional customization for what types of damage our minions can scale with.

Also SRS is 30 spirit for low investment good damage fire minions.

Everyone else is too far away from minion nodes to be considered "good". Templar/Druid will likely add some variety.

i currently have 14 arsonists so i will summon 2 less. big deal. still better than other minions. i suspect they will keep nerfing arsonists further

I actually expected a nerf to both arsonists and SRS(extremely good in campaign), maybe even an additional ascendency nerf...

Will probably come next league.

It is really disappointing. I just hope minions get looked at so all of them are useable without having to cover the screen with them.
PVE game with nerfs just LOL at modern devs.
