Stop making tiny boss arenas that get stuffed with AOE

This has been a running issue with POE since they released Act 5 through 10 in the original. Lots of bosses come down to simply being over sized, in an arena the size of a bread crumb that have 5 different kinds of AOE.

It is an absolutely frustrating experience that so many bosses are once again boiled down to cramming a lot of crap into a tiny space.

If you are going to do that at least reduce the duration of some of the lingering aoe abilities, like Rattlecages volcanos for example.

In addition to probably being a bit too small, many of the boss arenas do a feel a bit uninspired.

"Oh yay, another small circle with slightly different textures".

Make the small generic circle arenas bigger, give them some variety (holes, different shapes, etc) and I think it would be an improvement.

At the same time I do recognize there are like a bajillion bosses and if slightly uninspired arenas is a tradeoff required to make that happen I think they made the right call.

I'm a ranged character. I like to keep my distance.

Me, keeping my distance: "ok, keeping away from those big slam attacks, doing decent damage, everything going well..."

Boss who just activated an attack that takes up half the arena. My half, specifically: "Lol, try escaping this"

There's just not enough time to see the attack and get out of the way. It becomes undodgeable if I'm on the 'wrong' side of the arena when the attack animation starts

Yep I posted this on twitter that its lazy design to make near all boss arena's a postage stamp.

GGG has a LOT of work to make this game any good. Currently there are a handful of things that are in a good place but the rest of the game is cancer and that is NOT good.

For a game supposedly inspired by Dark Souls they sure as hell don't seem to have applied any lessons from Dark Souls...
just fighting crazed azmari and other boss fight design in general is infuriating.

a tiny arena that can field 4 of her aoe and she constantly have 3 on field and the remaining space has poison pool basically all space is filled with DOT aura. wtf honestly is with this design.

I am getting more and more confused by this game design, do this game want to be a sequel of poe1 or does it want to change to a souls like coz this is nothing like the two and also every bad thing the two types offer at the same time.

it does not matter with my technique coz those aoe are everywhere i am bound to get hit by one.

it also does not matter with my build coz most are rng.

I am getting more and more frustrated at every corner there is something with this game that shouts disconnection from how a normal people would think and play a game.

I AM FUCKING LEAVING.
sooner or later we're all goign to have Vietnam flashbacks to doing chaos trials with the one modifier that spawns doom circles that expand to take up literally the entire map before detonating.
That is specifically noticable with jamanra one of his attacks can just encompass the whole arena.

I can agree with you the boss design is one of the biggest weakpoints of the game. Many disagree with me here. It doesnt need huge adjustment. And the bosses are mostly visually pleasing and look great and often the skills are also really nice and well telegbraphed, but then you get a boss like Azmadi that makes absolutely zero sense.

We need more Bosses like Yama, Draven, Executioner, asinia. Some bossesa are really nice, but then you have weird abominations like the fucking Tornado Bird. Having skills that are basically impossible to dodge are bad.

And dont get me started on the Phasing of bosses its so badly mad.
