High latency spikes in Path of Exile 2 - Need help
Same problem here. I tested my connection with the other online games. No problem, gameplay is smooth, without any issue.
PoE2 is unplayabel today, and only PoE2. |

i may have found a fix it worked for me.
flush your DNS cache Right click on the start menu and choose "Command Prompt (Admin)" or "Windows PowerShell (Admin)" from the menu. • Type in the command "ipconfig /flushdns". • Press the Enter key on your keyboard. Thank me later if it worked for you |

" Didn't worked for me. Still unplayable laggy :( |

" Didn't work for me either. This game is 95% unplayable for me ATM. I have to ESC pause the game 10+ times during a map just to make it through it, and half the time I still get lag tossed into large groups of mobs. They need to do something about it, or just make some more cool pets and armor effects instead. |

I think I found a solution that might not work for everyone, but it helped us:
My wife and I were playing through the same Wi-Fi router. Everything was perfect on my end, but my wife’s ping would skyrocket and then return to normal every 10-15 seconds. We recently moved to Thailand from Kazakhstan, so my wife’s Steam account was still set to Kazakhstan, while mine was set to Thailand since I changed my store country. Somewhere here or on Reddit, I read that someone fixed a similar issue by playing the game through a website instead of Steam. So, I changed my wife’s Steam country to Thailand, and everything became perfect. Just wanted to share in case it helps someone. |

Your DNS cache is removed every time your machine restarts so flushing DNS cache doesn't seem like a likely fix. Also, DNS records are only cached for a limited amount of time.
I have huge latency spikes (2000 + MS) but mine only happen every 10-15 minutes and last only a few seconds. I have to hit escape to pause the game until I see "network" on the performance graph calm down. Then resume playing. This also means I have problems dying when playing in party because I can't pause the game in that situation. Happens across Texas (which I can't even see what my latency is on the Texas servers anymore), California, and D.C. Assuming its a consistent problem across all servers for me. Pings to my gateway and out to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) are fine when the PoE 2 latency fires up. CPU affinity hasn't fixed my issue either. |

server Frankfurt EU, it seems when more people start to log in I get those spikes from 40m to a 1000 for a second or two, that are sporadically start to happen when I play. I observe it cause I have latency graph (F1) on now at all times to be aware.
I got killed too many time because of it when it happens during boss fights or when fighting large group of enemies on the maps. No other game does it Last edited by PartyMan#6481 on Feb 18, 2025, 3:23:11 AM

Same with me in the UK, on PC. The game has been fine up until about 2 days ago and now it's almost unplayable. It comes to something when, during a map run though, I can see each and every frame of the lightning animation - That's how BAD it gets.
I work in IT / networks so have tried everything I know and nothing works. I play other games, on my PC, that are online only and absolutely no issues whatsoever. I am taking a break from the game until this has been sorted because the frustration is too much. It's not fun. Amazed that GGG haven't jumped on this as a priority to be honest |

When's ggg gonna pay attention to their game and fix these major bugs? They're gonna lose the entire playerbase if the game keeps being unplayable
