(Stormweaver) Max projectiles cold converted fireballs. Cheap, easy, powerful, FUN! (T16+ ready)
I'm not convinced all those points for extra projectiles is worth it. Have you considered going crit instead. The crit nodes are a lot closer. and the extra projectiles are only a small chance.

" yeah there is CI, a ton of endgame builds use CI this build can also use CI but CI gear is usually really restrictive and I like being able to mess around with the passive tree and experiment IMO huge single physical damage hits are more dangerous than chaos damage at the moment, so having a combined health pool from health/es/mana all together seems like a better idea to me (and is working very well). As for chaos resist, once I rearranged my gear and spent some ex, I got up to 55% chaos res without making any big sacrifices, and then I started feeling pretty good. Anything about T5 or so with only 10 chaos res you get from the campaign is a nightmare. Last edited by Konried#2763 on Dec 15, 2024, 7:15:58 PM

" With all the projectile nodes and a 10% chance from fireball gem we have a combined 58% chance to fire 2 extra projectiles. That means 6 extra fireballs per full unleash about 60% of the time. Which means even more splitting projectiles. On a full unleash + wildshards + extra projectiles proc we get a ridiculous stream of fireballs in all directions, which can get buffed by firewall, and then they are split into smaller projectiles that retain the firewall flat damage. So basically, extra projectiles scales our damage exponentially. The problem with crit is that crit happens when the initial spell is cast, and not calculated per individual projectile. Fireball is also a low crit spell (only 8%), and it would be very difficult to scale it up to a point where it is reliably critting. Yes when it does crit the projectile proliferation damage would also be huge, but getting it to the point where its reliable would be a pain, and also hard to fit into our gearing budget. The alternative build I have used without projectile nodes that works well, instead goes for huge amounts of cast speed, to get less damaging procs more often. Ironically it uses inevitable critical frost walls to proc the cast speed. (This build is actually super smooth and a joy to play because of the crazy high cast speed making it feel much more mobile, but it lacks the turbo nuke of max projectiles that I crave) I'm sure crit works, especially at massive gear levels. "Why not both?" is the ultimate lol answer here. Inevitable critical has huge synergy with unleash, on a 6 link and with perfect crit gear it might be the amazing. " Just discovered that in the skills window, if you click the arrow next to the DPS you can restrict spells to certain weapon sets. So, you can set Fireball to only cast with Weapon Set 1 (Or indeed everything but Sigil of Power). Now everything will swap back to the main weapon when used. |

" Oh man, I'm fifteen levels behind you, and that doesn't give me a lot of hope. Other than that, thank you for the guide. It is a lot of fun. |

" I'm clearing T13 maps with it at the moment. The build works great. The dps on fireball is deceptively low. We get most of our damage out of mass projectile creation through flame walls, then we can ramp it up with two buffs if needed. |

" ....damn well Im glad found out about that now, and not like a year from now lol Last edited by Konried#2763 on Dec 16, 2024, 2:09:25 AM

Dear OP,
Im completely new to POE , but can ou post gem skills on website for easy to see? you said using fireball + fire wall, and cast on freeze but using cast on freeze with "wall", but which wall ? frost or fire wall? thanks |
|
Hey, can you put your gems and gear on maxroll?
|
|
How essential is it to use fortress on flame wall? Almost tempted to use it on ice wall, trap myself inside and destroy things?
Is this even viable? |
