What happened to Chris Wilson?

"
[Edit] the post I'm replying to that tried to imply something about Starcitizen was apearently deleted or maybe they reread it and and discorved how it sounded as I allude to in my last sentence.

Any reasonable person can tell that wild non-sequiturs about a different game don't prove the things you're making up are true about this game.

This is deflection and false equivalence. Trying to establish a pattern by using an unrelated pattern. What a wild grasping at straws. You're doing a better job calibrating peoples detectors than I am.

Again Chris is publicly listed as the current Managing director of GGG, but hey some random poster on a forum says it aint so, when cornered and asked to cite a source: he'll link a person saying "prove me wrong" who's obviously making shit up, as proof, and he "saves these posts on his hard drive" in case "the truth" (stories) are wiped from the internet by the videogame shadow police or something? Oh and Starcitizen is also proof that he's right and the people who want proof are wrong and just not in on the sekret knowledge.

When you read that how do you think it sounds?

It seems they were right. He is managing director no more. https://app.companiesoffice.govt.nz/companies/app/ui/pages/companies/1887410/37860802/entityFilingRequirement?backurl=%2Fcompanies%2Fapp%2Fui%2Fpages%2Fcompanies%2F1887410%2Fdocuments
yeah saw that, don't know the circumstances but seems he's done, kinda sad. I wonder if he's going to announce anything?

still think that 4chan stuff smells like disgruntled former employee painting with office rumors.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

Indeed it is sad. Hopefully they do this right and honor his contribution the right way. It be amazing to see him in game in a role like Deckard Cain or something.

Always wondered why he suddenly was no longer showing up and also had no chance to say goodbye. I imagine for someone deeply connected with his own game like he was it would have been a logical step to publish a video or at least a tweet with his reasoning giving positive vibes for the future.

The fact that we did not do that tells me he was not allowed to say what he wanted or he chose to not say anything in order to not hurt the game.

I think the other two founders were happy to sell and he was not. That is why he was no longer showing up because he could not stand being owned by tencent and having no word anymore where the game goes.

We will have a bright future of shop items ahead of us. The people telling you that PoE will never be p2w are the same people that have no word in those decisions anymore.

Overall, very suspicious to me. Someone proudly standing on the stage promoting his game suddenly is no longer seen anywhere. This is not a good sign.
if you nerf 10 gems out of 30, you automatically buff the other 20!
This is pretty standard procedure for a company buy out. Usually one of the conditions of the deal is that the senior executive stays on for a period of time after the purchase for two reasons:

1. They are the strategic brain of the organisation and it takes time to transfer that knowledge, and you also want to ensure that if something unexpected pops up you can go to the last person that knew and get the answer.

2. By technically working for you, they are not working for the competition. Sure, there are non-compete clauses but this is usually more effective at taking talent out of the market for a period of time.

It's quite common that such an individual would be on call but no longer actively involved in the business. That's also a strategic consideration because you don't want that person to have access to new strategies that they could then take to a competitor once their retaining period is over.

Chris will either ride off into the sunset and enjoy his hard work, or we'll see him starting up some new project some time in the future.
At least now we know why PoE2 is the biggest dogpile.

Farewell Chris, I didn't agree with your vision and a lot of changes made.

But you will be missed and have been ultimately the success to this game.
Enjoy your retirement and watch the game burn from a distance.

Alright let's keep it real, there is no way of us knowing and that's fine. No need to find a scapegoat.

Okay doomer. If you say so, then surely!
Saddies, but I do feel like we're in good hands.

personally, not making a final post or video explaining his departure after 11 years, which for me he is not leaving on good terms, nothing good for the future , knowing how this project started 11 year ago

This.

If it had been for any personal reasons we would very likely anounced is goodbye before he actual leaves. Be it a new project, extendet holidays, family or what ever.
And noone here would have been mad at him at all!

But just disapearing from one day to another and then the cominity "by exident" finds out he is no longer Game Director of GGG ... that smalls so terrible like "you are fired CW!" bye Tencent.

I knew it was a terrible idear to sell GGG. Including there was absolut no reason as GGG was very healthy all the time.
